Decent Hotel in the worlds creepiest town

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 21 Apr 2016
The hotel wasn't too bad, however the city of Ninh Binh provided a creepy vibe. When we got there it was misty and cold, the hotel next to it (which we firstly wanted to stay) was sold out. People everywhere. Somebody recommended this place which was just down the street, so we went there to check it out. There was 10 floors to this high rise complex. We were one of the three people staying here. Got our room on the eighth floor, when the elevator opened up, it was pitch dark, had to find the lights and turn them on.The room was the least creepy part. to too bad. Breakfast was one for the books. Got up to the breakfast hall to find that we were the only people there. (obviously) It was supposed to be a buffet. We walked to the end of the room to find about 10 empty food warmers, then a lady came out ands said... "Breakfast"? She whipped a couple eggs, some nasty hot dogs, and a few slices of toast for us. Very nice lady. This place is indescribably weird as is the town of Ninh Binh. Id keep driving if i were you. Underground secure parking was legit. Safe travels!

Stayed there for 2 nights to visit the stunning area around and the first thing which comes to my mind is, that the rooms are huge. Really spacious with a great view. Big rooms are 950, mid size 600 and small rooms 450. Breakfast can be ordered, which will thê be put in the microwave to reheat it. The breakfast room is on the 10th floor which has the best view. Unfortunately all windows were covered with curtains. So would not make much of a difference if the room would be in the basement. Second thing noticed was a weird smell in the breakfast room. If you're looking for a massage you can go behind the hotel to a spa with VIP service. The entrance area made us leave this place directly. Overall: ok friendly, big rooms, a bit far from the center and better don't talk about the breakfast...

We stayed at this hotel for our trip to Ninh Binh.
Totally, It is a nice hotel with very good service and friendly staff.
They always try to make our staying the moat enjoyable.
Their room is big size, very efficient facilities and comfortable bed.
One minus thing is location, this hotel is located at the new part of Ninh Binh city.
Many construction, no place to visit surrounding hotel.
Maybe, When all construction are completed, you will have very convenient location.

We were hoping for some luxury for £18 a night (it sounds cheap but not when you can get a better place for more than half the price). Our room was clean, the beds comfy but that was it's only strong point. The staff were unhelpful, the expensive 'spa' was gross (cigarette butts everywhere, the breakfast was awful and it was so far from everything worth seeing. There are plenty of better options in Ninh Binh.
