This was a subset of a longer 2 day / 1-night tour we did with Susan and I can assure you we had a much more personal experience than we saw some of the larger groups getting. And while we couldn’t completely avoid the large tourist groups Susan did a great job of keeping us out of sync with the larger operations. You’ll also do some things that, frankly, I don’t think would be possible with the larger outfits such as walking a tiny local village and getting hands-on with some local workers making roof panels out of local materials.

If you can spare 24 hours instead of a half day consider this trip with Susan:

This is what we did and can’t recommend it enough!

Cai Rang market is interesting because it’s a part of local culture, BUT, once you’re there for 5 minutes you’ve seen enough. The most interesting aspect of Cai Rang is the local culture and lives surrounding it. If you can manage, find a driver to take you to the market but then spend most of your time exploring the smaller canals nearby.

We did a two day one night tour through the Mekong Delta with "Can Tho Touring with Susan" and we did not regret it one second. It is a very intimate tour with a maximum of six participants. It was such a great experience to be welcomed into the house of Susan's parents and her grandma is just the best. We didn't see a lot of other tourist along the way only when it was inevitable. Susan is a lovely person who made our Mekong experience very special.

We loved out trip here and made it worth while leaving Saigon for just this. Susan picked us up at 5.40 and myself and my friend (a long with other girl) and got on the boat. We were treated to coffee, bah mi, pho and pineapple. We also got sweet treats! It was atmospheric and not too busy - a real cultural experience which I won't forget. Walking through a local village and going to rice noodle factory topped the morning off! Despite early start this trip was very enjoyable and great value for 4 hours. Thanks Susan for making us laugh and being so lovely!!!

My wife and I did a tour booked thru Susan Bui. Our guide was Danh. Lovely guy and excellent english. Picked up from out hotel at 5.30am and onto a small sampan on the river before 6am. Sampan would seat 4 people so with only two of us it was great. Much nicer on a small boat close to the water than on the bigger tourist boats and you can get a lot closer to the boats in the market. Stopped for coffee and breakfast on the river ... all included in the tour. The trip down the river and around the canals is very interesting. The floating market was relatively small ... may have been a lot bigger in the past when there were less roads and the river was the main transport. Its still a great trip, but don't expect it to be like the publicity photos.
We felt it was money well spent (US$20 each) for a personal tour and a great guide with good english. All credit to Susan's tour company.
