Phi Phi Relax Beach Resort

I certainly didn't have the highest expectations and don't mind some rustic accommodation, especially for that price on Phi Phi and with the added bonus of being secluded from the main bustle of the island. But frankly, this was disappointing, so much so that we left a day early.
The service by the management was lacklustre and their borderline rudeness was off-putting. The mosquito nets were horrible, making for a terrible night, as the net itself stank to high heaven and was so heavy you got claustrophobic. Added to the lack of electricity was that even with the lights working, it was too dark everywhere to even read. The sink was leaking and we hightailed it out of there after one night.

The setting and beach was admittedly stunning, so no argument on that front. But not enough for me to ever want to return.

The restore is located away from the party area. There are two ways to get there. One is by tail boat that only goes there till about 6:30pm after that you're going to pay double to get there. The second way is by a hour hike that can be done only during the day. The food is good and mix drinks are okay. There's no electricity from 6am - 6pm so you'll have to charge your camera battery at night. No TV, hot water or clock. That's why they call it relax. Beach is not great, fish bite and too many rocks. Best part of this resort was the view of the morning sunset and the day tour around Koh Phi Phi Leh.

Room Tip: If you like isolation this your place!

Located in a remote bay on the far side of Phi Phi, this resort is a non-inclusive, no amenities, unhelpful/borderline rude staff, almost torturous place. The 'beach' is tidal and gone for the main portion of the day, when one would, say, sunbathe. When the tide goes out, the coral reef exposes itself and its urchins and makes playing in the water a dangerous endeavor (my husband has the scars to prove it). The smell of the exposed reef is made almost unbearable but the drain that is dumping into the ocean, right out in front of the resort (one can only assume the worst). Getting to and from this resort is problematic - you can only go at set times... none of which line up with day trips from the main pier. The resort offers trips, but not scuba. Phi Phi has a set price among all operators for a 2 dive day - and these guys didn't respect that. There are also no beach towels, and a nasty note about using your bathroom towels. The restaurant is below average, making my husband sick our first night. Feeling claustrophobic and not wanting that experience - we left. We made our way to Koh Lanta and love it here - great resorts, good vibe, great dive shops and lovely folks.

This resort should be called "power generator beach." On the website they forgot to inform that from 6 PM to 6 AM the power generator is working and it roars all night so you have a freling like to sleep on the motorway. The paradox is that our hut was called "relax room". Price is not worth the quality! No hot water, moskitos, bugs, spiders. Expensive, poor, and as for Thailand, rude service.

stayed here 2nd jan 2012 for 3 nights in coral rooms right on the beach, it was paradise as our long boat approached the beach , which i may add was amazingly clear with corals and reef fish everywhere , the rooms were a mixture of bamboo and wood with palm leaf roof , with a good size double bed with mozzie net , electricity between 6pm to 6am , but who cared it was an experience you would not forget , the restaurant was ok with a reasonable variety of choice on the menu so there would be no need to go hungry, but most people went to bed by 10pm as the sound of lapping waves were just rythmic and soothing , other reviewers said it was expensive , but as i have been all over thailand i found on the whole it was about 10-15 baht dearer for most things , admittedly the water taxi was dear but the location more than compensated.

Room Tip: go for the coral beach front rooms they are just fantastic , its like living as a castaway on a beau...
