10 night stay with 5 rooms

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 2 May 2019via mobile
Our family stayed for 10 nights at this hotel in 5 separate rooms. Although the stay was good, there were a couple of things that wasn’t so great. 1. The weird smell that was present in some of the rooms. 2. The septic tanks for the toilet cleaning was horrible. If someone used it, the room would smell like a sewage facility for 30 minutes. 3. The pool closes at 9pm sharp and doesn’t open until 10am! 4. The location is good but it’s tucked away down the end of the island in a walkway that houses some of the septic tanks for the sewage. 5. Internet was constantly dropping out. Front counter staff are lovely & friendly. We definitely preferred the bungalow over the hotel rooms. Breakfast was definitely well below average. All in all, Maiyada was a good place to stay.

They have a swimming pool and breakfast at extra charge. I stayed in a bungalow next to the swimming pool for the first night, then moved to a room on the second floor with a beautiful view from the balcony. Both rooms were great! Hot water, shower, TV , fridge. All you need in Koh Phi Phi. 😊

This hotel meets your needs. It doesnt have any extra bells an whistles, a basic hotel but it was super cheap and the staff were very friendly. We were given the choice of a bungalow or hotel room. The bungalows are actually lovely so if you can choose, I would choose them. They are small but we really liked ours.

We had to check out of our previously booked hotel as it was just awful - not clean and safety of the room was questionable. They showed us the available rooms and allowed us to book through a travel site for a discount. It seriously made our trip. The rooms are big and clean. The pool is open from 10am until early evening. And being that it is so hot in Phi Phi - it was amazing to have. The staff were so accommodating. They allowed us a later checkout (200 Bhat per hour) - which was fine with us. We had a beach view with a small balcony. The rooms were dark for sleeping. They offer towels for the pool and beach. Free water in the rooms. AC worked well. It a bit of a walk from the restaurants, but that made it quiet at night. I absolutely recommend staying here. I thank them for rescuing us from the other hotel!

Room tip: Ask if you can see available rooms.

Pleasant rooms clean showers AC worked okay. The staff was friendly and the pool was clean it was a good place to tan outside. Overall not too many complaints. 100 steps to the beach. Beautiful quiet part of the island. It’s about 15 mins to all the shops/market and bars. However, would stay here again.

Serious safety incident

The hotel is not at all what it seems. We were staying at Phi Phi Maiyada, and were dissapointed with the quality of the rooms and the bathroom being so filthy.
The second day out of our 3 days total there was ruined. My sister, 12 years old at the time, was molested by a boat driver we had purchased from Maiyada. The people at the desk rudely apologized and didn't give us a refund or anything. We went to the police, though. We had to go to court for most of the rest of our stay, so it was really ruined. The only thing nice about the place was the pool.

Room tip: Go to another hotel. Those have better rooms.
