I had a great experience at Alama. Iced chai and iced mocha are worth the trip alone. The pineapple carrot salad is simply inspired. The staff was very friendly yet non obtrusive. Maybe folks in a hurry should stick to the western geared restaurants. Me...i’ll go back.

Service was horrible, the Thai people are generally friendly but can't say the same for the owners of this place. The food was very average and they had no idea about the bill. Cats were hounding us at the table for food which for someone who is allergic could be a massive problem. The place was so expensive too paid the most for a meal here which was not worth it in the slightest. Bad, service, food and atmosphere.

Out of season saw this place ventured in as there were Europeans already dinning. So assumed it was a good place to eat.
We that's my mate and I ordered food at the same time. I received mine first then started to eat my meal. Half way through my meal, my mates meal turns up. And it wasn't what he ordered.
After a little confusion he got his meal, which he enjoyed. Leaving me to write a review while he ate.

Good food, nice music shame regarding the service.

Thank Robert B

This restaurant has a bit of everything on the menu, and seating options; A great little bar upstairs with covered outdoor seating, also indoor air conditioned areas. The drinks are great quality, and the food is very good. During high season, they cook bbq fish every day. In low season we had to order our fish the day before, and they cooked to order. We had red and white snapper and prawns. They bbq/bake the fish with a mixture of spices according to your taste. We had Thai spices. The spring rolls in particular, are good here. We also had Penang curry and phad Thai. All very good quality. The only catch is you might want to ask how much the fish will be before you order as there are no prices. We paid about 5-600 baht per fish, which is fair. Thoroughly recommend.

Hi.
we travel as a family (5 year old kid with us) and we have been in the restaurant yesterday.
To be honest: It is not worth the money. It is quiet expensive and not tasty.
You get a potato with the fish but it was not well done.
The fish was not the one we selected and we had to tell them to BBQ it one more time. We don't eat raw fish.

The location is nice and the staff is OK, but the food is poor.
