Review of Baan Thai House
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 3 weeks agovia mobile
A superb place to stay and explore Ayutthaya. English speaking staff are very friendly, efficient, helpful and an excellent source of local sight-seeing knowledge. Villas are well decorated and very clean (and spruced up daily). The Baan Thai villas are arranged around an ornamental pool in a very well tended garden full of Frangipani trees. The on-site restaurant serves a satisfying breakfast and dining through the day offers a selection of excellent and reasonably priced Thai and European food. The hotel has excellent arrangements with local Tuk-Tuk services to offer hotel to town transport at fixed fares and the hotel organised (fixed price) evening boat and temple tour ending at the riverside night market is recommended. On-site wifi adds the final touch for those who just can’t let go. It’s a very pretty, very quiet and very tranquil place to stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Baan Thai House and only wish we'd arranged to stay for longer. It's such a beautiful place - a tranquil oasis within the bustling city of Ayutthaya. We loved everything about this place, from the stunning gardens, tropical plants, massive coy carp in the pond, swimming pool, and the perfect cabin in the middle of it all. But on top of all this, it is run by the kindest and friendliest people who made our trip so easy and relaxing. We didn't read anything about their restaurant before we visited and just thought we'd be able to get breakfast there, but we ended up eating there for lunch and dinner on both days of our trip. They serve really tasty traditional Thai cuisine and were very happy to adapt dishes to meet my overly complicated dietary requirements. While we sat and relaxed at the end of a busy day, one of the youngest ladies caught the attention of our 3-year-old daughter and they immediately got along. She played with her, gave her little gifts and showed her which leaves the fish liked to eat. Baan Thai House is very reasonably priced - it was cheaper and yet far nicer than the other three places we stayed at during our holiday through Thailand. We'd love to visit this fantastic resort again one day.

Room tip: Ask the hotel to arrange your tour and tuktuks around the town to save yourself the stress. They're very friendly and willing to help.

This beautiful property is located just outside the historic centre. Short tuk tuk ride and you are there. Very friendly staff! We reserved the Garden Villa. Very spacious and great bed. Separate toilet and shower. Nice balcony. Swimming pool is a great to cool down. Small but decent menu for food. We ate one evening at the hotel. Breakfast is sufficient. Fresh fruits, cereal, coffee, toast and eggs made to order. We really enjoyed our stay here. Very relaxed and very helpful staff. Strongly recommended!!

I love it here. The property is set in stunning and beautiful grounds. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and a special thanks to (Benjarong) Milk, who was so kind and helpful, always asking if we needed anything or wanted a tuk-tuk etc. ❤️

Room tip: The pool and pool area is lovely, as is the breakfast 😋

We were only here for 1 night so we could explore the Ancient City. The gardens are beautiful with a large pond and geese. We booked a Thai teak house which was upstairs.Small room but all good.My only issue is that you had to climb over a step into the bathroom and then down a step.I scraped my leg whilst coming out and cut myself on my shin.Next time I would chose one of the ground floor bungalows. We were offered the use of the bikes to ride into town but didnt take them up on it.You need bikes to ride around town as everything is quite spread out.
We ate dinner at the hotel and the food was very good and reasonably priced.Breakfast was just 3 choices of eggs which was a little disppointing as I dont really like eggs. They organised transport to the bus station for us.
The hotel is set in a beautiful quirky part of town and you have to cross the river to get to the island for 10bht on the local ferry.Loved it.Night markets down the road as well

Room tip: Ground floor rooms
