We were upgraded to a pool villa which was a perfect place to say with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and tea plantations. Though this was just the beginning of what was a perfect stay. The ambience in the candlelit restaurant is superb, the food the best we've had on the trip. All freshly prepared to order, ( you order in advance ) we had a delicious local beef dish on the first night, a perfect fish curry and dry prawn dish on the second. Deserts were excellent too. Staff all went that extra mile and made it a hotel we simply didn't want to leave

A magical place set on the Hill-top overlooking majestic scenery. This place is sheer bliss and a retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. Everything is perfect! Our jacuzzi villa 305 has the most magnificent views and captures the sunset! The restaurant caters for all dietary needs and all food is freshly prepared. The coffee & tea shop is complimentary, as is morning Yoga and Cooking lessons! The management and staff are professional and courteous. This hideaway is breathtaking and a must for those that need a peaceful retreat and rejuvenation. I’ll definitely be coming back as certainly one of my fav places to visit, and I do visit a lot!

We had little idea what awaited us after our long drive along some interesting roads after being met at the airport in Kochi. This was our first stop in Kerala and was one of the best. The location is amazing with panoramic views but what makes it so memorable is the style of the hotel and the amazing staff.
It was designed, and is owned, by an architect and it shows. Our room was on the top level - which we appreciated not being as young as we once were - and an easy walk to the restaurant. Good to know as the hotel spreads vertically down the hill with the restaurant at the top.
We had a Jacuzzi room which was spacious, well designed and luxurious. Lovely native wood used extensively to create the bed/desk area and plenty of soft lighting (which meant lots of light switches to locate). Very large bathroom with mosaic tiled Jacuzzi, large shower, robes, fluffy towels and lovely amenities. With a full wall of glass facing the view with a sliding door giving on to a full size balcony with chairs this was a room to spend more than the two nights we stayed.
The restaurant took full advantage of the view - hint bag a table on the terrace for breakfast for the full effect. Fresh breakfast buffet with eggs to order and very good coffee. Dinner is candlelit and the chef creates really well balanced delicious dishes with decadent desserts.
A trip down the stairs and slopes to the lower levels of the hotel leads to the spa, library, infinity pool and coffee shop. Be ready for the climb back up to the top.
The whole atmosphere exudes calm and relaxation and with so few rooms you can expect the very best personal service.
We cannot recommend this hotel too highly and would love to go back there.

Room tip: Request a higher level room if you find it hard to climb stairs - in this case the upper levels are more flat.

Just a fabulous resort. We had the lowest pool villa on the hill with the most amazing views which it was impossible to get tired of. The hillside is a bit of a challenge for the slightly less fit but then breakfast is worth the climb. The food was very good - and we really enjoyed the space to eat alone in our room a couple of times - India is fabulous but it can be a bit overwhelming and so the retreat of this hotel was a welcome one in the middle of 3 weeks travel. I had a facial whilst there which was extremely good and much less expensive than some other places we stayed. The tea plantations - which is why you climb up into the hills are amazing and the whole trip was a highlight in our tour - even though the roads to the hotel were pretty challenging in places it was definitely worth it.

My husband and I spent two nights here as part of our honeymoon. We stayed in the honeymoon spa suite which was out of this world. We had our own jacuzzi, massage tables and balcony overlooking the mountains. The staff were incredible and made our stay incredibly memorable.

We went on two guided walks, did the cooking course, yoga, had a massage and went on a trip to the nearby tea factory and lake - all were first class.

The trip up the mountain is long and a rough road but it is WELL WORTH IT.

Wonderful wonderful stay!
