We stayed two nights here and could have happily stayed longer. The cottages are quiet and comfortable - plenty of room to spread about; seats inside; outside, upstairs, downstairs. So much birdlife and wildlite. We even had an elephant visit us in the night but I slept through it and only discovered why the dogs barking had woken my husband at breakfast! The cottages are clean with plenty of hot water. Meals are taken in a "hut" and are delicious. Plenty of choice on the menu. I managed to easily have vegetarian meals without trying. We joined in on a nature walk with one of the employees and he pointed out things we would have just walked passed and had a wealth of names. Very interesting - I recommend you join in if you like nature and plants. The staff we all friendly with a quick smile and very helpful. When I asked about a particular bird I was quickly lent and entire book on the local birds for the rest of our visit.
Couldn't find a single thing wrong.

Situated about 5km from Munnar, the accommodation comprises a small number of semi-detached split level bungalows -- spacious, well appointed and adequately spaced apart. The setting is delightful with peaceful natural countryside and wonderful local walks within the woodlands. The restaurant is built of a bamboo frame with banana leaf cladding -- quirky but so very natural. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful; the food was excellent. Ask to see the coffee and cardamon drying room behind reception! Our only adverse comment would be the rough stone track giving access off the main road.

Room tip: The bungalows seemed to be identical and well spaced apart.

Me and my family had taken 2 cottages in Dec for a day. The property is located off the national highway and you have to take an inclined dirt road for around 300m. The cottages are new and spacious. Staff were very helpful and friendly. You get the views of the valley/greenery from the cottages. However you dont get the views of the tea estates which is what Munnar is famous for. We faced some issues with plumbing in one of the cottages which was fixed after some time. Mobile phone reception is pretty bad. It could be a bane or boon.

We spent two nights here and thoroughly enjoyed the well appointed cottage. The cottage itself was spacious with a comfortable bed. The shower was OK but not a power shower. The dining area was in a palm hut, which was rather novel. The food was good and the staff very friendly. On our second night, having just finished dinner, one of the staff beckoned us forward as he had heard an elephant foraging. We heard the noise and eventually, in the darkness, spotted the elephant. It was actually quite close and the staff shone torches so we could see this glorious animal. What a treat! We also visited the tea plantation in Munnar and found this to be really interesting. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

My wife and I recently enjoyed two memorable days at Ambady Estate, as part of a holiday in Kerala. Situated a few Km outside Munnar, this is a lovely haven, feeling close to nature and far from busy roads etc. The air is full of birdsong and monkeys are welcome visitors. There is even the realistic prospect of seeing wild elephants. The bungalow accommodation is comfortable and spacious. We also found the food in the restaurant to be excellent for breakfast and dinner. Best of all, the staff at Ambady provided an exceptionally warm welcome and made this a very special stay. In summary, this is the ideal base from which to explore the beautiful highlands around Munnar.
