We visited this temple on our tour to south goa from GTDC. Our tour guide told us that each Hindu temple in Goa is always surrounded by water body which is very beautiful to see.
Make sure you wear decent dresses while entering into the temples. The temple committee too keeps shawls/stoles which can be wrapped around your body if you are wearing a short dress.
The temple from outside and inside is very nice. It gives one a peaceful feeling.

Shatadurga temple is a must visit for those doing south goa tour. A peaceful temple . Not much crowded . You can easily visit and get darshan of Goddess Durga. Temple has many chandeliers on its roof. The structure of the temple is portugese style.

This is the original Shantadurga temple in the Ponda area.
Magnificent structure with architecture style borrowed from Portugal and British style of construction
The backdrop is also the lush green hills which reveal the rising temple only at the final turn
Off white and red brick color lends a very serene and peace giving quality
The inner sanctum is clean with the diety in contrast Colors of black and bright robes and heavy jewelery.
It is worth the detour to catch your moment with the divine in your trip to Goa
