I have been to Roatan five or six times and this is my favorite spot, one of the most special places I have ever set foot. Location is perfect -- close enough to West End that you can walk to the bars, but far enough to be out of earshot when the parties get loud. (My last trip this Sept/Oct, the road getting here was mucky, and there was some construction on it, but but don't let that deter you!) In the daytime, you can cool off in the saltwater pool or play with the deer -- yes, deer! -- who will even let you pet them if you're gentle. Some nights, it's upbeat, with a band jamming on the wooden deck, lionfish being cooked up (you MUST try it), and a fantastic mixed crowd hanging out at the bar. (If you have been here a few days and your belly is rotting from watery Honduran beers, they have Tucher!) Other nights, if it's not busy and you are lucky enough to have the place to yourself, climb out on one of the hammocks that hangs over the ironshore (exposed fossilized coral) and you will feel like you are at the end of the universe, exposed and so very alive. This place is atmospheric and so, so beautful. Also: well-run. Hosts Adi and Eva, plus the chef Mercedes and bartender (sorry, I forget his name!) are all lovely.

My Fiance and I had the pleasure of staying at Lands End. The first day there was a very big storm and a lot of rainfall. That next morning I awoke to a leak in the roof- nothing too big, but it did happen to be dripping right on my forehead. We told to owner and he upgraded our room for the rest of our stay! (we were there for 6 days) The breakfast was always enjoyable- would have been nice to have more options, but i can't complain too much. We ate there twice for dinner and both times it was excellent. (better than 80% of the places in West End-highly recommend the lion fish) It was great to have the ability to go snorkeling right off their property. This was a very relaxing place to stay and the trust system they have in place is great. (You don't have to wait for a bartender to show, just hop behind the bar grab yourself a beer or cocktail and write it down on your tab)

Room Tip: I would recommend to Ocean view rooms-they're worth the little extra.

This was our second visit to Lands End and we had another wonderful vacation. Situated in a quiet corner of West End we had stunning 180 degree views of the ocean from our room (Tucan).
This hotel is well maintained and benefits from a great team who provide service with a smile. The pool, bar and sandy area are quiet which is good after a busy day diving. During our stay the bar had a couple of 'open mic' nights which were fun and a chance to meet some of the local musicians. Also food was available from the restaurant. This was good local cooking (not fancy but tasty).
Thanks to Adi and Eva for making our stay feel like part of the family. We love this hotel and will come back next year.

We went to have drinks and watch the sunset. NO bar food, terrible service (we were 4 and the two waiters stood behind the bar and had a beer while chatting with another couple at the bar. We were told that the boss was not there so they could not come up with an appetizer to go with our drinks. We ordered the lion fish (which they are supposed to be famous for) and it was "fishy" and looked like fried fish sticks you'd get from a package -- and tasted even worse. The lodge looked great but I'd drink and eat elsewhere.

My wife and I spent four nights at Land's End on our honeymoon, and we are already looking ahead to our next stay there. Not only did we fall in love with Roatan in general, but we absolutely loved the resort and staff at this quaint, comfortable establishment set at the western point of the island. Adi, Eva, Joe, and the entire Land's End staff were wonderful.
The rooms are comfortable, with AC, ceiling fans, and hot water - we even borrowed a dvd player from the hotel to watch a movie or two while relaxing. The resort sits on the edge of the West End where coral meets the ocean, and the view is nothing short of stunning. Sitting out on the dock, floating in the pool, hanging in one of the hotel's four hammocks, or sipping on a Monkey La La or cocktail of choice, you can see the ocean all around you. Breakfast is included, and we awoke each day looking forward to it - coffee, toast, cereal, fruit, and even eggs. The bar is open most days in the afternoon, but if you need a cold beer, glass of wine, or any beverage, help yourself to the "honesty" bar where guests log their purchases and settle their tab at the end of their stay. It's a smaller resort, which was great, as we got the chance to meet and hang out with some of the other guests. And if you are in Roatan for the diving (as most are), then you can have your fill, even taking a dive right off the end of the dock at the resort, or walking only a few hundred yards to the SeaGrape Plantation resort dive shop where you can schedule dives all around the island.
The best thing about Land's End is the people. Adi, the resort's Manager, is hospitable, friendly, and really makes you feel like you are part of the family there - anything you need, he will go above and beyond to help you. Joe, the bartender and diving guru at the resort, was great - I didn't have time to complete the entire diving certification classes, but Joe took me on a few dives and make me feel very comfortable in the water. He makes a hell of a cocktail as well!
If you are looking for a low key, friendly place to stay where you can dive into the ocean right outside your hotel room, enjoy breath-taking views and tropical breezes, and perhaps even share a Sunday afternoon BBQ having beers with the staff, then look no further and book your stay at Land's End. We will be back to Roatan, and we will head right to the Green Flash bar to catch up with our newly found friends.
