We had a great week at Blue Bahia, staying in the Sea View property. Room was clean and comfortable. Generous A/C and ceiling fan coverage. Although the tap water is potable, water cooler-style drinking water was provided (in Roatan, that's a nice touch). Balcony has a couch and a hammock for being lazy. The property manager, Suzette, was superb. An issue with the gas line that interrupted hot water and use of the gas cooktop was resolved right away, and on a Sunday morning, no less. Staff was friendly and chill, but still professional. It's a quick taxi ride to Eldon's in Coxen Hole for groceries, or to West End.

A note for shore snorkelers: both the inside and outside of the reef are fantastic, each in their own way. Exterior of the reef is spectacular in the morning, when the winds are mild. Swim between the moored dive boats for temporary protection from boat traffic. Great quantity, maturity, and variety of marine life. Late-afternoon swims along the reef interior were also good. YMMV, of course, but water clarity was some of the best we have experienced anywhere in the Caribbean, even when winds were blowing across the reef from offshore (which can turn the water into soup). The night snorkeling was also really amazing.

If there's a catch to this location, it's that the bay can be extremely shallow and choked with eelgrass, which makes navigating up and down the reef tricky in some parts, and impassable in others, although you'll find paths and passes after a few swims. It was easier to walk down to the southern boat channel to exit the reef rather than swim out from the house dock. The coral on the inside of the reef is also faded/spent. But if you've been to Roatan before, you know how it goes--get outside the reef for coral and better water depth. If you have a few gaps on your Human/DeLoach bingo card, you'll possibly fill them in here.

What a brilliant friendly resort. Everything you want in the same place. The people are so friendly and the service second to none. We stayed in the king and queen condo and can’t recommend it highly enough! Thanks to Suzette and her team for making us feel at home.

Perhaps I shouldn’t give it away, but this is a fantastic place to visit for the day! The owner Rob is SO HELPFUL and kind with information and tips, and we had a delightful day! There were 4 of us including 1 teenage girl (hard to please) and everyone in the group raved about the food, drinks, snorkeling, and wonderful attentive service! It was a perfect respite from the cruise ship throng in West Bay and West End - we LOVED it. Thank you so much - we will DEFINITELY be back - and please, visitors, do frequent the wonderful bar and restaurant and tip generously. The wings were delicious as were the drinks (my friends had buckets of beer and I had a few monkey la las). The staff is so very nice.
