A very comfortably and friendly cabin hotel. Everybody has their own place to call home while having all the amenities of a hotel (they make your bed and wash your dishes). The pool is very clean and just right for cooling off when needed (not for swimming...just chilling). The beach is not the best for wading but very nice for sunbathing....without the noisy crowded feel of the west end... and a very short boat ride takes you out to the most beautiful coral reef for snorkeling or diving, whichever is your desire. The hotel makes all the arrangements for you. And they will get you any car with or without choffer to tool around the island. Everything is close by. The restaurant is very good and will even make you a meal that is not on the menu if you ask and they have the ingredients. Had the best seafood soup (not on the menu) with lobster, shrimp, conch and good vegetables.

Room Tip: Big units full kitchen but all have basics. If you need something extra, just ask and it will be sup...

Just spent a week at Blue Bahia with a group of high school friends from all over. The staff went out of their way to make our stay not just good, but perfect! The setting and atmosphere of the resort are wonderful for this type of reunion, where you want to truly be able to visit with your friends. There is a very good restaurant (The Beach Grill) and dive shop (Octopus Dive School) right on the premises.

I've stayed here several times over the years, and it is always a great place to stay because (1) it is well located on the island (for Sandy Bay, West End, SBLM, close to airport, etc.), (2) has a great, separately managed restaurant on site, (3) has a pier for swimming in the ocean, (4) has a pool, and (5) has a variety of units to rent. Our unit, the Sea View, is a little tired, and I understand that it is to be updated. Some of the other units are already updated and were already very nice. I definitely recommend staying here, but you should know that the units are not plush, and if that is what you want, go elsewhere. Also note: you cannot really go into the ocean from the beach because of the seaweed...instead you go out on their dock and can go in there very easily.

Blue bahia is an excellent example of family oriented fun mixed with adventure. Suzette is a true professional. She can help with anything needed. The people make the place, although the food at the beach grill is outstanding. The local employees are so kind and generous. To name a few, jefferson, angel, Tyler, alex, maria, maria, maria...from dining options to island tours, scuba to fishing, anything you want to see or do will be accommodated simply by asking Suzette or any of the locals here.
And if safety is a concern, it shouldn't be. The fine people of the island love us touristas. It's a genuine feeling of appreciation. Especially at blue bahia. They are mostly all bilingual and we'll educated which lends to a feeling of security.
We will be back to scuba, which we didn't do. The people at the dive shop were usually teaching and doing tours, but took the time to chat us up on their passion.
In short, visit blue bahia. It really is amazing. And if you can, do it on and anniversary or special occasion. Suzette will make sure it will be the best day you spend on the island...
