Nice hotel right on the river; a bit rundown but with nice balconies. Get the lake view. While we were there, there were tens of earthquakes so a bit scary. Lovely otherwise.....hotel is a bit cheap with the buffet etc and you may have to haggle, so be careful how you book. Rooms are a bit old, but lovely location.......however, Bellevue is better because they have a swimming pool.

Room Tip: Get lake front view

Comfortable bed and rooms, although the hotel is outdated and needs some sprucing up. If you can get a lake-facing room, the sunset views from the balcony are wonderful.

Restaurant was adequate, staff pleasant enough. My biggest complaint is that the WiFi quality is horrible everywhere. I had trouble connecting in the room as well as in public areas (lobby, restaurant, bar). Also, the water in the room is not potable, but you can fill up your bottles in the restaurant.

Room Tip: Try to get a beach-facing room if possible.

I was in the Tourist hotel, which belong to Metropol and is in the building next to it. Breakfast is at the Metropol Hotel. Large variety of food, but the same everyday. Some fresh seasonal fruits. Room is cleaned everyday. In general it was ok. From the hotel to go to Ohrid center by taxi you pay 200 Macedonian Denar if you negotiate with the driver. Else they ask around 400 Denar. At that time 1 Euro = 61 Denar.

This hotel has no interest in its customers. The staff are rude and unhelpful. The room had a bathroom bin full from the previous occupant. The airconditioner and telephone were not working and when I mentioned this, the staff were not bothered. The next day, nothing had been done and even after a reminder, still nothing was sorted by the following day. The location of this hotel on the shore of Lake Ohrid is amazing and this could be a wonderful hotel if the management would try. Breakfast was poor - the fruit juice had not come from a fruit and the bread was dry and old. The mattresses were lumpy. Money can only be exchanged at specific times during the day at the front desk, but they are most unhelpful. I would have moved hotels had there been a chance. Luckily I only stayed 2 nights. I would not recommend eating there in the evening. There are many many steps down to the lake - something to note if you are with young children or struggle with stairs.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the lake are beautiful

We stayed for 7 days in August.

The hotel is on a high level compared to the others in Ohrid, but it does not deserve "4 stars" as it is stated. It requires a little more effort and investments.

The most of the staff is pretty polite and professional, the food is traditionally good and tasty, but it can be even better .......

Hygiene can be improved, here the carpets are primarily problem (perhaps changing them)

Overall rating: good - should be better

Remark: a surcharge of 6 euros per day for a room with a lake view at so high prices in the peak of the season.(is it necessary ? )
