We decided to stay here after first seeing the Minamar Hotel in Bahariya. The Minamar had a dead horse in the driveway and no water... and we didn't see any guests either. So we insisted on staying at the Panorama instead... but it was not much better. No dead horses, but the beds were not comfortable, the sink leaked all over the floor of the bathroom, and the shower was iffy. In terms of the hotel itself, the grounds were not very nice, the service was a bit surly, and the food was mediocre.
However, you can certainly do worse as there really aren't too many options for places to stay. Plus, as your time is spent mostly out doing stuff, the hotel is really just a place to sleep.
