Nice place with friendly staff

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 2 Mar 2015
Oasis Panorama hotel was my base for the trips to the Black Desert, Agabat Valley and White Desert. There is nothing better than to return from the day trip to the desert and take a hot shower and at the hotel there is hot water! Well, that was not the only positive thing, actually if I come back to the Baharyia Oasis I will stay at this hotel again. The room was quite big, a bungalow type with everything you need including refrigerator to keep your water cool. The design of the room is also very unique and nice to the eye. The staff were very friendly, relaxed and ready to assist with every wish. I had both dinner and breakfast and food didn't disappoint. Another advantage - great location. It is situated at the footsteps of English Mountain, away from the busy streets of town with gorgeous views on the Oasis from the top. The only suggestion would be to have internet but considering that the tourism is practically non-existing in the past 4 years, I'm pleased that this hotel is trying its best and optimistic for the future.

Room Tip: Ask for a Bungalow, new type of rooms they have now

We stayed for one night in this hotel and found it quite charming. The beds were ok and the staff very freindly. The bathroom could have done with a bit of maintenance but I would
definately recommend a stay here. Just don't expect 5 star.

We were part of a group traveling in the Western Desert and stayed at the hotel for one night. The area is expanding and the hotel is located on a hillside overlooking the town. Very nice people greeted us and our room was adequate and clean. Meals were simple but good tasting and no one went hungry. Great tours were arranged for us as well. Only issue was the morning shower was stone cold but we were in the desert. Overall enjoyable stay.

We decided to stay here after first seeing the Minamar Hotel in Bahariya. The Minamar had a dead horse in the driveway and no water... and we didn't see any guests either. So we insisted on staying at the Panorama instead... but it was not much better. No dead horses, but the beds were not comfortable, the sink leaked all over the floor of the bathroom, and the shower was iffy. In terms of the hotel itself, the grounds were not very nice, the service was a bit surly, and the food was mediocre.
However, you can certainly do worse as there really aren't too many options for places to stay. Plus, as your time is spent mostly out doing stuff, the hotel is really just a place to sleep.

Spent one night at the Oasis Panorama it is a basic, clean and very friendly Hotel, with wonderful views and a simple beauty in peaceful surroundings of just the oasis and the desert. The room was basic, very clean, plenty of hot water and the obligatory mosquito net to sleep under. The food was very simple but good wholesome and ample, and the fact that the Hotel was small (32 rooms) meant that you had very personal service with a wonderful smile very time. The magic of this area is the desert and the silence and the chance to be away from the hustle and bustle of modern life...if you enjoy this type of adventure, wish to feel as one with the Bedouins then this is the place for you.... do not expect any thing other than the simple life and you will NOT be disappointed... will I visit again yes of course as part of the desert experience
