“Paradise!”
Reviewed 13 November 2006

what a beautiful city. We were on our eurotrip, decided to stop by Rovinj. I was amazined. It is like a little Venice. Everything is soo ancient and mysterious. So many great stores. Walk up the hill through the small local streets to the very top (where the church is) to get a view from the top and then go down to the nort shore they have beautiful rocky beaches and the water is crystal blue and see through. You can also jump from the rocks if you are brave. I did!
the stores are relatively cheap than the ones in Dubrovnik, with a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables

“Unspoilt Rovinj”
Reviewed 29 May 2006

Just returned from a visit to Rovinj. The town is completely unspoilt with narrow cobbled streets leading up to the imposing Cathedral of St. Euphemia. There are beautiful walks on the headland around the bay through extensive woodlands with stunning views over the sea. The locals are very friendly and helpful - most speak some English. The cost of living is reflected in the prices in the town - we found it very reasonable compared with the UK. All signs are in Croatian and Italian as the town has a very high Italian population and is very popular with Italians in the summer. Menus in some restaurants are priced in euros although Croatia is not in the EEC. It is possible to take a trip to Venice or Trieste from Rovinj. We went on a small boat ride up the Lim fjord but it proved to be rather uninteresting unless you like looking a banks of trees and fish farms, however, it passed an afternoon. The boat stops at a pirates cave on the return down the fjord - a visit to miss - you can always stay on the boat as we did. There are plenty of restaurants in the town and ice cream cafes for that calorie top up. All in all a very relaxing holiday in a totally unspoilt environment. Watch out for Pula airport - no computers so all check in is done by hand.
