Location is very good. 10 minister walk from the ferry pier. Located on a Nice bay.
But very huge hotel. The standard rooms are as small as a big bathroom. Service is ordinary and breakfast is below average. Because if it’s size looks impersonal and staff is also not too efficient. Swimming pool is good.
Never tried any meal at the hotel since there are wonderful other eating places in walking disinfect.

Just back from a weeks stay at Amfora and the service could not have been better!

We booked a transfer through the hotel, it was hassle free, they even looked after our bags in Split whilst we were waiting for the catamaran, giving us time to explore! The staff meet you at the dock at Hvar and your bags are taken straight up to the hotel!

I had emailed in to ask how much upgrades were a week before out stay so it was a lovely touch to be upgraded for free when we arrived!  Hotel is large, spotless and staff are very friendly.

Rooms were nice, there were some little things that could be improved, not enough space to pop clothes away and my partner was having issues with the sink splashing water everywhere however the shower was super!

We stayed bed and breakfast and would recommend this, so many nice places in Hvar to eat! Breakfast was great and I have to say thank you to the friendly lady that cooked our eggs every morning we loved them!

Being dairy free it was so nice to see a range of milks available.

Plenty of sunbeds, pool was perfect, gorgeous walk in to town from pool area! We found the drinks vexpensive in the hotel and mainly drank in town.

To top off the brilliant stay it was our anniversary while there and the hotel kindly gave us a bottle of fizz to celebrate!

Thank you so much Amfora and Hvar we will be back!

Breakfast was great.
Room (NOT a view - but I knew that and am ok with it) was large and clean and great temperature.
Beds were comfortable - even the sofa-sleeper!
Coffee was good.
Location is superb!! Easy walks everywhere.
Pool was cold but lovely.
Beach was stunningly beautiful and my daughter supped - excellent!
Staff was very helpful.
Food by pool was very good!
All in all, we loved our stay here!

We stayed at the Amfora Hvar for 4 nights celebrating our honeymoon. Overall, we were pretty disappointed in our stay, especially since the hotel is supposed to be a 4-star resort.

Pros:
- location is perfect...you can easily access the beach and the town (be warned as most beaches in Croatia are ...it is a rocky beach). Views are great too.
- upon our arrival we are given early check-in with a bottle of champagne waiting in our room
- the night before we departed house keeping brought around fresh, warm cookies and free water to our room
- the swim up bar was amazing and each of the bartenders was extremely kind
- the pool restaurant had relatively good food
- free baggage transfer from the ferry port

Cons:
- house keeping walked in our room one day around 5:00 PM without knocking... very startling to have a stranger suddenly appear in your room with no warning
- the balcony sliding doors lock behind you if you shut them all the way to keep the air conditioning in the room and/or bugs out of the room. YOU WILL GET LOCKED OUT! We sat on our balcony for a solid 30 minutes trying to flag someone down to tell the front desk that we were locked on our balcony. And on that note, the guests we flagged down told the front desk we were stuck and the front desk simply issued them a room key to our room and told them they could let themselves in to save us. Somehow I don’t think that is ok and is a security issue. No hotel security or personal escorting them, they simply just issued them a key and sent them on their way. Kind of nerve wracking to know at any point a guest could request a room key to a room and be granted access without any questioning.
- for being a 4 star hotel our room had peeling wall paper, no iron/ ironing board, hair dryer didn’t work, and the door to our room was near impossible to shut. My husband had to pull the door shut every time we left the room because I couldn’t get it to shut myself
- super weird about pool towels. We had 2 hotel pool towels at the pool one day in addition to our own 2 beach towels that we were using as head rests. The worker in the towel hut came over and told us we had to use hotel towels even for our head rests and to put our personal towels away
- noise. I’m not one to complain about noise because it’s a hotel and you’re bound to hear some noise, obviously. However, the walls in this hotel are paper thin. We could hear perfectly clear conversations from neighboring rooms. If that wasn’t bad enough, you can hear people walking around on the floor above you at all hours of the night. We didn’t particularly care for waking up to high heals stomping around upstairs at 3AM
- and while I understand this last con can’t be changed, I still feel like it’s worth pointing out. The layout of the hotel is very strange and disorganized. The signage isn’t clear, the pool isn’t easily accessible, and the few elevators they do have are extremely small

The views from this hotel are amazing. Attended in may 2017 for a wedding. The wedding it's self was outstanding. Could not fault the day from start to finish. However some of the smaller details let it down. There was a broken light in the pool, the sink in our bathroom had a leaking sink which smelt awful and the room which we had upgraded to for the sea view was tiny. There was basically a bed and a foot walk way round either side. Unfortunately it didn't seem like there is much competition to keep the hotel on top form as all the hotels in the resort were in poor state, not refurbished for years and they all seemed to be owned by the same company. The staff were very pleasant. I think, had the price tag for this holiday been lower the above may not have seemed as bothersome. However at around £1500 for 9 night bed and breakfast we would not return on the basis that we have had better holidays for less money else where.
