This is a hotel where obviously a lot of thought has gone into it's decoration. We had a nice friendly greeting and were given a welcoming drink. The room was clearly very new. The pool is very nice as well, but can be shady in the afternoon There is also a small gym and sauna, although I never saw anybody using it. The hotel itself is above the seafront and it's all downhill to the front, but the walk is only about 10 minutes. Obviously slightly longer coming back! There are though one or two restaurants close by and a small supermarket. Breakfast in the hotel was OK but the fresh bread selection wasn't the greatest. Also it's one of the few Croatia hotels that we stayed in that had a kettle in the room. When arriving at the hotel you get a discount card that can be used locally and it also allows you to park for free in a car park near the main Zlatni Rat beach, which was very handy.

Dear Martin, Thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful review of your stay at Hotel Bol. We really appreciate you sharing your experience with us and the Tripadvisor community.

We are absolutely thrilled to receive such positive comments and of course, we are delighted you had thoroughbly enjoyable stay with us. We strive to offer the best at Hotel Bol and it is very rewarding to see all our efforts (big and small) appreciated.

Thank you for your comment about the fresh bread selection. This is often considered one of the highlights of the breakfast so we apologise if the selection at the time of your stay did not impress you much. We will check with our kitchen staff again to ensure there have been no recent changes. As to the pool area being a little shady in the afternoon, this only happens at the end of the season when the sun is much lower in the sky.

It was a pleasure to have you and we would love to welcome you back anytime! Until then we hope the memories created in Bol see you through the cold winter months and beyond!

Kind Regards,
Valentina

We stayed for 2 nights whilst island hopping around Croatia. Because I was recovering from a broken ankle, I found the walk to/from town a bit difficult particularly on return as it is uphill. Delightful hotel though and I was so impressed with the receptionist (sadly I have forgotten her name) who was super efficient and friendly with it. I would return - when I am fully fit!

Location, location, location. Up a steep hill and away from the town itself, the location is probably the worst thing about this hotel.
Maybe we should've researched further, but for us, we preferred to be a bit closer to the bars and restaurants.
There is a restaurant next-door but we had our worst meal of the holiday there.
I can't fault the decor, the service or the staff.
But also everything about it is a bit small! it just felt cramped.
I offer a free collection and drop-off to the harbour if you coming on the ferry, but the day we left, the ferry was at 6:30 and apparently you don't get a lift that early!
So obviously we missed breakfast but I offered a packed breakfast 1st to take which we accepted.
I have to say it was absolutely pathetic. Two slices of dry bread, A small piece of cheese, A tiny bit of salami and a yoghurt with no spoon.
No drink.
So I'm sorry, I won't be returning and I definitely would not recommend if either hills are a problem for you or you don't like to be out on a limb.

Dear Andy,

Thank you for taking the time to write this review - we appreciate all feedback.

Thank you for appreciating the decor, our staff and our level of service but we are deeply sorry you were not impressed with the hotel's size (we are a boutique hotel, which usually refers to a smaller, top quality hotel) and in particular with its location. The whole of Bol was built on a steep hill so inevitably some properties are going to be located uphill. However, the hotel is only six minutes' away (500m) from the nearest bar, which is one street behind the seafront, and the start of the town centre. As we aim to offer only the best at Hotel Bol and we want to ensure all our guests have a relaxing holiday, we would offer guests, who genuinely have difficulties with the walk up and down, free transfers. Furthermore, there are several restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel as well as a supermarket so we wouldn't describe ourselves as being 'out on a limb'. As you can see from the very high mark awarded to us by our guests, the majority of our guests are very satisfied with the hotel and its location.

We do offer complimentary pick-up and drop-off but - as stated in your reservation confirmation e-mail - this service is available from 08:00 till 23:00. The front desk is opened 24 hours daily and our receptionists gladly handle all inquiries and go the extra mile to arrange additional services such as your early check-out taxi transfer.
As to the packed breakfast, this is the first negative feedback we have received and has it been passed onto management.

I hope you enjoyed your stay in Bol regardless and that you have pleasant memories of the place.

We wish you a wonderful winter,
Kind Regards,
Valentina

We are here again for the 5. year. We just love this hotel. The staff is always professional thanks to there leader Mr. Zoran. We have noted that they are making sure every detail is ready and prepared before we came. THANK YOU.

Accommodation:
5 stars!! always clean and well equipped with all that you need. Rooms look like new thanks to the good maintenance.

Food:
Noted that the large and excellent menu is up to date and is VERY VERY DELICIOUS thanks to the chef Mrs. Mare and always very friendly waiter Marko.
On the table every morning something new and interesting like different types of fresh homemade breads each morning. White bread with black olives my favourite and poached eggs.
Very interesting this hotel offers GLUTEN FREE AND LACTOSE INTOLERANT FOOD.

Staff:
5+ stars!! Professional, helpful and always ready to help

For sure see you again next year.
