“It's almost like going back in time to Chinese civilization.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 September 2011

My friend and I visited this wonderful site/city lifestyle in December 2009.

Despite the chilly weather, there was plenty of sun and clear skies to take beautiful pictures. This mufu, literally a palace owned by a rich man long ago. If you ever watch one of those Chinese classical films with long structured houses with specific architecture, you will enjoy this.

My friend and i honestly loved it because of the history it represents and classic beauty. Not all the detailing and painting is retouched which i liked because i like old historic sites.

Because it is very large, this area is beautiful and quiet. Very peaceful and it is VERY large so make sure you bring comfortable shoes. The best part is walking all the way to the top which shows the entire view of the old town and the palace.

As a bonus, I bought some handmade-paper postcards by dongba. It is one of the most beautiful and authentic postcards I ever saw and sent. My family and friends claimed it one of their favourite postcards.

Would i return? honestly, yes. it is also convienetly located right by the old town so there is always something to see or buy or eat!.

“The most Beautiful Palace In Lijiang”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 September 2011

The original building was built more than 700 hundred years ago, the Mu's family rule for 22 generalation for about 470 years, it was ruin many time due to war and fire and rebuild, it was fallen completely in 1996 earth quake, what you see today took 3 years of time to finish, to duplicate to it's former glory day every way, a small forbidden city look very much like the one in Beijing, well worth the time to visit.
