Valleluna is a place with great character and history thanks to its old farm homes and barns that have been turned into simple but beautiful guesthouses. Owner Terry and his staff have done everything to make our stay a great experience! If you're tired of the noisy crowds and flashy lights of Yangshuo and are looking a quiet and authentic country-side experience in the beautiful karst mountains of Guilin, Valleluna is a wonderful place to stay. We went there for climbing, biking, hiking and kayaking and found it a perfect base for our explorations.

We moved from the centre of Yangshuo to Valleluna and all of us were really glad we did. Yangshuo is very busy, loud and touristy so to move to a tiny village and stay in traditional Chinese accommodation was ideal. The owner, Terry, speaks very good English and arranged bikes, kayaking, taxi to the airport (half hour away), any type of food we asked for and he even taught us to cook our favourite dishes. There is lovely walking straight out of the door (Terry drew us a map of a 4 hours hike we did) and moon hill was a 20-30 minute bike ride away. Coming back to Valleluna after a day out was a great way to chilll out after the day, have a beer and eat some great food. Make sure you ask for the sweet and sour pork and the fried noodles!

The guest house sits at the foot of a hill, it's about 15mins' drive from the centre of Yangshu but far enough to get away from the crowd. All rooms are converted from a traditional cottage, simple but comfortable. The owner is so creative that he built a small traditional room inside as bath room. Days at Valle Luna were so cozy, waking up naturally, taking a walk to the riverside, hiking, biking, fishing or just enjoying a cup of coffee on the terrace. Very relaxing and refreshing! PS: Owner Terry is your go-to guy in Yangshuo, he is local and has been working in tourism industry over a decade; chief/driver Lin made the best "Beer fish" and chicken soup; Xiao Jiang has very nice personality, a good hiking/biking buddy.

The experience of staying at Valleluna guesthouse is unique. Placed in an original old chinese village we found this experience of staying here very special and wonderful. Terry is a great host and helped us organise our trip, and even showed us the beautiful landscape for several hours!! He put a lot of time to make this old houses look so lovely. - And he is a great cook also! There is nothing left we could have asked for! Thank you, Terry!

What a great Idea, converting a farming hamlet, cottages and manor house, into a new kind of holiday village. Owner/manager Terry could not do enough for me and I got a real taste of China that I couldn't find anywhere else. The rooms were furnished to a high modern standard, the best of both worlds, set in amazing countryside.
