We booked this hotel the last minute as our previous hotel in Tunxi Town couldn’t recognised our booking confirmation from a website in English. We are glad we ended up staying here. The hotel staff were very warm and professional. Everyone we came across are with lovely smiles. It’s difficult to find detailed hiking information on yellow mountain on internet, but Andy from the reception gave us such a great travel advice with the recommended routes and prices. The room is clean and modern. The location is perfect which is right next to the bus terminal both for yellow mountain and Huangshan Train station. They also have a restaurant with English menus which you can also use intentional credit card. The only two things I would recommend the hotel to change are: the toilet need a frost glass for privacy, and a mini fridge.

Tips for the travellers: if you have been to other cities and had the experience of Chinese traditional streets, I would highly recommend to stay in Tangkouzhen instead of Tunxi. Tangkouzhen is a lot easier to access the yellow mountain and make it possible to get to mountain earlier to avoid the huge crowd.

Glad that I read all the reviews for this hotel because I really enjoyed myself here!

Pro:
- Andy (the manager) speaks English and was super helpful and not to mention super nice to us! He helped us with trails, bus times and locations for us to create our path up the mountain.
- This hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the bus station that takes you to the mountain. It's perfect :)
- Room: Decent space, gives you 2 free water bottles, great shower, bed and all the other amenities. We couldn't have been happier :)
- The restaurant downstairs: really good! highly suggest you eat there one night. We go the Wild Boar dish (amazing!), green tofu veggie dish and the chicken stew (too oily).

Con:
- If your room is on the second floor: It will smell like chinese food :/ Probably my only complaint because i have a heightened sense of smell and was a little grossed out. My husband didn't mind it all but I just don't like to be smelling it when I'm sleeping.

There isn't too much to do in this area so don't expect much. We really came here to hike and that's about it. There is one KFC that's a 10 minute walk and sadly....we ate there three times haha. Overall: if you're looking for a hotel that is NOT in the mountains- this hotel is the place to be.

Room Tip: Try to request the 3rd floor!

If on a bus going into Tangkou, make sure you tell the driver you need to get off at Tangchuanhuiyun. The hotel is tucked into a road with the entrance facing the side. Wonderful hotel with the most helpful front desk. We ran our Huang Shan plan with them, and they helped draw a route and direct us to the bus center, which was less than a 10 minute walk. They even provided free disposable rain ponchos on our way out. The room amenities were lovely with coffee, tea, and even a foot soak. They had a special green tea buckwheat pillow on each bed too. Overall, the cleanliness and honest staff were refreshing in a city that is trying to get the most out of tourists.

We stayed at this hotel for 3D2N as a family. It is well located next to the shuttle bus station to Huangshan cable car stations. The bus rides are RMB 19 per person and take about 15-20 mins. The hotel staff were very friendly, spoke English and accepted international credit cards. Hotel rooms were clean. We recommend this hotel as a base for Huangshan Should you also be interested in going for the hot springs, they will be able to sell to you discounted rickets and arrange for transportation. In addition, we borrowed their wooden hiking sticks for free, it helps the knees when going up or down the mountain. Whilst some people may want to experience staying in a traditional inn or home, we were comfortable with clean beds, good water pressure and heating/air condition.

This hotel is a perfect base for our 3D/2N trip to Huangsan. Conveniently located right next to Tangkou bus station. Hope off bus and walk 2 min. Reception was first class, friendly, communication skills excellent. Everything we needed to know about exploring Huangsan Mountain was clearly explained and communicated.
Food in restaurant was yummy and good value , service was good. Don’t bother eating outside as restaurants all have similar menu.
Hotel room was warm and cosy providing a haven when returning from a days hiking.
Highly recommend!
