Located uphill at Ubatuba-Caraguatatuba road, a few km after praia da Enseada in the direction Caraguatatuba, Peixe com banana offers exactly that: boiled fish with banana, served with rice and pirao, kind of a manioc porridge with spices and small bites of fish. This is a very traditional dish from this region, from the time Ubatuba was a small settlement divided by Portuguese, French and indians. (well, maybe not the rice, then...). Other choices would include shrimps, whole fishes, casquinha de siri (an entree of crab meet over a slice of palm heart).
The view to the bay and the colorful birds that come for the fruits laid down by the staff will surely make your stay much more agreeable! And do not miss the fried banana with sugar and cinnamon, a free-of-charge desert that is a tradition in this restaurant.
