Had the hummus with Syrian bread, which was dumped on the table without a word. The bread was nice, the hummus OK, but tasted as though vinegar was used in place of lemon. We ordered 3 Sfihas, which were enormous, and all smothered in cheese, too much for me (I am vegan but have had to adapt while in Brazil!) but tasty nonetheless. Perhaps the staff are underpaid? In any case they did not appear happy in their work, were offhand to the point of rudeness, didn't smile or acknowledge us except once, with a reluctant "de nada". "Ki-Beirute"? With an Australian surfing video on loop, the staff more hip hop homie than Levant, if it wasn't for the chap in the headdress on the menu and the photos (of Morocco) on the wall there is little concession to the Middle East here in terms of atmosphere - certainly not hospitality. It was the low season, and maybe the staff are underpaid and demoralised, but friendliness costs nothing and the reward you get for it makes any job more pleasant. Hopefully an off day!

I ordered the lamb plate (which was not cheap) and the meat did not taste like lamb but rather a piece of Brazilian steak. My boyfriend ordered the pepper steak. We were both disappointed with quality. There was no value, we could have spent the same amount in a more upscale place for the same amount of money.

The only delicious thing on the menu of value are the Kibes! Go for kibes at 5BRL a pop and you won't be disappointed but skip any elaborate dish!!!

You have to try broccoli with bacon and catupiry! The place is new, placed in the busiest area of the city, next to pubs, bookstores, stores, etc. The food ir cheap and very good but the waiters are always in a rush and sometimes don't give you all the attention. The manager is very impolite with the employees and i felt very uncomfortable. Anyway, its worth!! Its really good!

We had lunch here on a quiet weekday, location is nice in front of the sea if you chose to sit outside where you have a view. Unfortunately the outside seating area is very open and does not have adequate protection for the wind so we moved inside. Inside felt like a fast food burger chain, tables and seating are comfortable and functional, definitely not a restaurant where you go to enjoy a meal and spend time with your girlfriend.

Whilst the menu has many options, it’s really more a case of the same things with different flavours and fillings. Based upon the name “Ki-Beirute” we were expecting Lebanese food (which we love), in reality this is rather a Brazilian-adapted interpretation. Dominated by esfihas, which in the “open” form they are effectively selling as Pizzas with an Arabic bread base. Whatever pizza you can think of is basically offered as an open esfiha! I opted for a meat esfiha (closed), my wife ordered a cheese and sun dried tomato closed esfiha. Our esfihas were generous in size, but the dough was not very nice. My wife’s esfiha was full of oil when she took a bite which then made a mess of the plate and table.

After a delay arrived our tabule salad, again we had high expectations for such a classic Lebanese dish, it was ok but lacking some basic ingredients, the quality of the bread they serve with the salad is poor and very dry. It would seem they have never visited Beirut and experienced real Lebanese bread. Finally we ordered two kibes, again they were very big (good start), but unfortunately we found them far too dry inside perhaps over-cooked, anyway we added some spicy sauce from one of the three bottles of what appear to be supermarket purchased sauces left on the table.

Service was slow and not very attentive considering the restaurant was almost empty. The price of the esfihas are good value if you "value" size, but in our opinion the price reflects the quality. Beers and cocktails were expensive and priced more like a bar, so we opted for orange juices.
If you are looking for quick fast food rather than authentic Lebanese food this may be for you. We left disappointed.
