Ubatuba has decent restaurants, but the food tends to be somewhat monotone: most of them have similar menus and seasoning, as if the same chef had created all the recipes. It is mostly what is called "caiçara" food -- what the traditional inhabitants of the area ate --, with little variation. Terra Papagalli does offer traditional food, but with more personality, and also some dishes with an Italian accent. The food is tasty, the portions are generous and the drinks are excellent. It is in a nice location, in the hub of Ubatuba's social life, and very close to Itaguá beach. You hear the waves crashing on the shore as you eat.
