The place is beautiful! Out guide was excellent! What a Renaissance man he was. It has motivated and inspired me to be so much more creative in my own life. The tours are scheduled, and a guide is required, so check the times and plan the day.

It's a wonderful place to visit, with spectacular work and an amazing space. It's far form the city but you can still get there using public transportation and it's totally worth it. Make sure to book it first or you might get there and find the gates closed.

This is the home and land of the famous designer. Most of his public or private gardens for patrons feature striking curved lines, native plants, and complex rhythms. However here space at home he designed the whole landscape. You walk in what looks at first like a natural forest yet you soon realize that every tree and bank of flowers has been placed to harmonize or contrast for views from all angles. It is an amazing experience and then you go to his house and workshop see his collection of folk art and his own Paintings, sculptures , gallery. Everywhere tremendous skill and sense of color and placement, total design. Plan to make an email reservation well in advance and make sure you're there at the time of the tour; it's quite a distance from downtown and traffic along the coast maybe heavy. Transport by car or taxi can be arranged on your own as we did with a driver from our hotel -- it is not necessary to pay a tour company but may be more convenient to do so.

A hidden jewel, this is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Rio. Far from downtown Rio, the distance means nothing when you see yourself in Burle Marx home, when you realize how much he knew and loved about nature, plants, life... Also, as you talk to the current staff you realize that all of his love for this place was inherited by the ones who take care of it now.

I went to the museum during the Olympics where it was free, I think it cost about 10 Brazilian Reals to visit, you could get lost in all of Mr Marx artwork collections and painting is an experience, his life story is very important to Brazil with his famous design that is all over the beaches. The tour includes a visit to Mr Marx home, you get to see all of his art work, painting ansd etc. The property is very large and with all kinds of trees, Flowers. ENJOY
