Flavia is the best!
The hotel is in a good area where you can go outside for drinking staying safe! There is a good common area on the hotel, with some tables and Flavia bought a small swimming pool which was a very good idea!

Room tip: small garden with a view on Rio

Flavia and staff are great and very friendly and knowledgeable, and can make you feel welcome in Rio easily.

Nice rooms, good view, good wifi and other facilities and great and extensive breakfast. Nicely situated between Santa Teteaa and Lapa. I even had the luck to get upgraded immediately.. Will come back here for sure.

Great hostel- best staff from
Brazil, super breakfast, beds are fine, best view of rio & nearby lapa for all the bars & party! Enjoyed every bit of the stay here! Could not wish for a better one! Showers not in rooms but there are plenty so don't worry!

Great location, lovely rooms, and a nice little garden with a stunning view over the city. The best about this B&B is, however, the wonderful staff helping you in any way to make the best out of your stay in Rio. Thank you a lot, Rafael and Laura!

I stayed in Casa da Gente for about a week and I had a good stay there. The place itself is very conveniently located, nicely decorated and it really feels like a home. Breakfast is very nice and the restrooms were clean. Perhaps best of all was the host, Laura, who was very hospitable and had a lot of good advice.

Basically everything is there to make your stay there totally worth your while and it's good value for money but there's two things you might want to take into account when booking a room there: 1) the beds are not built for above average height people such as me. They fixed this problem immediately (upgraded to another room) but worth noting. 2) The place is close to Lapa, the party district, so on Fri- and Saturdays I would suggest you either go out partying there or take one of the rooms that are not on the city center side because of the noise.
