Lovely little B&B in a house in the hills of the Santa Teresa neighborhood. Caretakers are super nice and help with everything such as maps and tips for eating etc. Lovely breakfast with a few local fares, nice little garden with scenic view and birds. Soon rooms have shared bath with other rooms so make sure you check this while booking. Feels like a B&B; there are some board games and novels in the common area.
While great for younger people, it is a bit tough on older people and those with kids. Rooms are in the lower levels (no elevators) so prepare for lots of stairs up and down in the house. Also, unless you decide to take a cab (caretakers are nice and will call a cab but often the cabs are expensive) e.g. 50 BRL to bus station, 50 BRL to copacabana). Also coming back the cab drivers cannot seem or pretend not to be able to find the place.....even though we printed out the address along with GPS coordinates and handed it to them, they typically would circle everywhere before finding the place, resulting in a hefty fare.
Finally, although we felt safe in the house, there was no safe in the room and rooms are not "insect proof" i.e. large gaps in windows / doorsMore
