Boutique hotel - great service and food; friendly staff. In the heart of the Old Town with it's cobbled streets - a lot of shops, restaurants, coffee shops etc within walking distance. The harbour and boat rides are also close by. Very peaceful and quiet.

Located about as close as you can be to the main square, this place is still beautiful and mostly quiet. There can be some street noise, but since Paraty is not much of a late-night destination, it's pretty rare and ends early.

The rooms are clean and comfortable - they also have satellite (SKY) TV. The air conditioning was totally adequate, when needed and the rooms were good sized.

The common areas are beautifully maintained - the pool and pool bar are gorgeous at night. The staff is very helpful in arranging boat trips or other excursions. The included breakfast is great - more than enough to get you started for the day.

Everything is within walking distance. Be careful on the streets and bring sturdy footwear, as the original colonial "paving" is pretty tough to navigate.

The pousada does not have a gym, however, the bike/walking trail just across the bridge at the front of the hotel is great for running.

Valet parking is free, but the loading/unloading area is small. Just put your hazard lights on and wait for an attendant.

Enjoy Paraty! It's an amazing place!

Room tip: If you are light sleeper, ask for a room away from the street.

The location is the selling point for this hotel - right in the historic old town. The hotel is beautiful and has a lot of character - the negative point for us is that we got upgraded to a master suite directly by the pool and bar, although this was a lovely room, there was a large group staying at the same time as us and they were very noisy during the day and night. I would stay again but would choose a different room. This was probably just bad luck and I imagine it is a relaxed and quiet hotel at other times.

This is a very beautiful hotel located perfectly in the center. A small but beautiful garden perfectly maintained with beautiful orchideas. NIce pool with warm jacuzzi on the side, very clean. Room we got was very nice and large, but was a superior one. The ordinary ones are smaller. I loved the hot steam sauna. Everything is very clean and beautiful, service very nice and discreet. It has a very calm ambience, maybe you will have some soft jazz music at the bar on the side of the pool.

The location is very good, right in the center. The rooms are clean, big and even if not a key points the variety of TV channels is appreciated (watching a movie in English after the diner is something I appreciate in holiday). On the other side, the internet connection is not good (when you plan your trip on a on going basis it is a key point!) and the mattresses are very (too) hard. All in all, nice place to stay for a reasonable price off season.
