“Beautiful sandy beach but keep out of the water”
Review of Icarai Beach

Icarai Beach

Large white sand beach well used by locals for sports, soaking up the sun, Tai Chi, walking, etc. Great views across Guanabara Bay to Rio, charitas ferry terminal and Fort Santa Cruz da Barra. Just don't go swimming. Water is often brown with pollution and solid waste can be seen floating in the surf.

Icaraí is beautiful and it is very close to Rio, you can have a very special view of the city from there. It's calm and nice, there are buses all around, so it's very accessible and there's a big mall not far from there with a great infrastructure. It's not very big, but it's a nice place to relax and it's usually always hot, even during winter!

It is the only place in the world where you can catch in the same picture Sugar Loaf Mountain, Corcovado, Guanabara Bay and the skyline of Rio de Janeiro. When the Lord is inspired, you can have beautiful sunsets.

The Icaraí beach it's only good for practice sports or walking. Never swim into it, the water is polluted.
