Pretty nice hostel in a good location in the town - be careful with the walk to the bars and take advice from hostel staff. Nice rooms with good bathrooms and all pretty clean, more like a basic hotel than a hostel. Good social area with a bar too! Hostel staff very friendly and happy to help us arrange tours of the falls. Overall would definitely recommend for Iguazu!
We arrived slightly early and although hotel didn't appear to be overly busy our room wasn't available even although we had requested early check in. Bar was closed during our stay so we couldn't enjoy those supposedly free caipirinhas! Breakfast offering was ok but slow to be replenished. Overall nothing to put off recommending however a little more effort would be appreciated.

Unfortunately the early check in happen depending on our availability, it's only guaranteed the check in starting at 2pm, as said on all of the websites that we sell our rooms on, and our reception.
Our free caipirinhas usually happen everyday, but the days our bartender is on his day off (as informed also on the websites that sell our rooms). We're sorry that you couldn't enjoy this, but you are welcome to come back and have them in another moment!

We had a good stay at che lagarto.
The location of the hostel is great, near the bus station so you can easily reach iguazu. the receptionists are really helpful with anything you need. The breakfast is varied and the hotel provided us transport to and assistance in crossing the border into Argentina.
My only complaint is that we were on the 8th floor (top) and right next to the lift, every time someone got in the lift there would be such a loud noise in our room which kept us awake at night, I don't know if this was because we were top floor or not but avoid staying in room 809 (I think it was!)

Che Lagarto is the perfect place to stay in Foz do Iguaçu. It's in between the principal avenue 2mn walk and the bus terminal 4mn walk that brings you to the airport, cataratas, Parque das Aves, Marco 3 fronteiras.
We had a triple private room ensuite and the room was perfect with tv and Ac, cleaning everyday included and breakfast well furnished too.
They offered or the tourist office offered the shuttle from the airport for R$60 per person one way, I found it very expensive knowing that by bus it cost us +- R$3,30.
The wifi is a bit slow.
I recommend you this very good price/ performance ratio!

We booked a double room with breakfast included. The room was large, clean, modern and had a lot of amenities including fully working aircon and a fridge. The bathroom was very nice with a large shower and the bed was comfortable. The only slight downside was the noise of the elevator which we cold hear from our room but it really wasn't a problem. The rooftop bar, hot tub and "pool" (small but perfectly formed!) Was fantastic and there was a happy half hour 7-7:30pm every night with free caperhinias! The staff were friendly, helpful and really attentive. Breakfast had a large selection including fruit, cereal, bread ham and cheese, and hot options (sausage and a kind of omelette), coffee, tea and juice. The hostel is also very sociable with several common areas including the rooftop bar. The hostel also has an in-house tour operator offering airport shuttles (cheaper than taxi) and tranfers to and from the falls (we used then for the argentinain side which was great as they sorted everything re crossing the border). Supermarkets and restaurants are within a 2-10 min walking distance.
Overall an excellent hostel and I'd reccomend it to anyone going to Iguazu!
