The hotel is well located, just in front of the beach and near the river (where you can find many bars/restaurants during the day). There are activities at the pool area, play center, area for playing cards, chess and others.

Being on the beach it woould seem like an ideal place to stay, and it would be if it were not for a few things. The grounds are immaculately maintained, which is more than can be said for the hotels, rooms and restaurant area. It was clean and birght, so these were not major problems. The service in the restaurant was, as would be expected in Bahia, very slow. But the food was abundent and good. The spread for breakfast was immense and contained everything for everyone, every type of fruit imaginable, cereals, breads, cakes, meats, both hot and cold and cheese.

The beaches north of Salvador, Bahia offer many options. One of them is Imbassai, located near Praia do Forte, where the fasmous "Projeto Tamar" has an attraction related to the wild life care of the area.

Imbassai is a small town with a lot of options of hotels, pousadas, restaurants and some basic shopping. It main characteristic, is that the Imbassai river runs parallel to the beach, so to access the beach you need to either cross one hte bridges along the town or cross it walking in the last kilometer or so before reaching the ocean, when the river is about ankle height up to maximum hip height.

The Costa dos Coqueiros Hotel is very nice and has a lot of activities fro young children to play safely inside premises. It has a nice pool with group activity during high season and the hotel is located right in front of the river/beach. You can dip in the water on the river or cross it to the beach.

Unfortunately a lot of the north beaches from Salvador have a lot of rocks and this particular beach is no exception. Nonetheless bathing on the river where it enters the ocean, especially when high tide is coming, is a lot of fun, no rocks and all the family can enjoy.

The hotel has a restaurant and if you want to try something else, the town offer some restos to try.
