I went to Kamakura for an 3km ocean swimming race on the beach. The weekend was very busy and I was lucky to get a room here on a Friday night. It also says something that it was one of the last hotels with rooms available. The hotel seems to cater to tour groups, which could also be a factor on the weekends.
The positives are that the rooms are quite big and the staff have excellent English. The location is a 10 minute walk from the local train station, but not bad. I didn't try the restaurant, but there are some nice beach restaurants only about 6 minutes walk away.
The negative is that it feels like an average tourist hotel that you could find in any part of the world. It doesn't take advantage of it's sea front location, in my view.More
