I took a school group to Washington DC, and chose Econo Lodge Metro due to the great reviews, and close proximity to the East Falls Church metro. (It took us about 30 minutes to get Federal Triangle metro which was our main stop most days. Very convenient as we did not have to change trains. Orange line all the way) We were impressed with how nice the area where the hotel was, and felt very safe. The hotel was nicely decorated and looked to be newly remodeled.
Here are my pros and cons:
Clean, comfortable rooms
Continental Breakfast which includes, pancakes, toast, eggs, sausage, etc.
10 min or less walk on bike path to East Falls Church metro
Awesome breakfast and cleaning staff
*Contacted hotel several times, including day before, to be sure there were doors between our adjoining rooms and was told yes, but at check in only 2 rooms had adjoining doors. This caused issues for us due to amount of counselors and students. Asked to be moved, but told no more rooms.
*Offered a lower rate by Choice Privileges a couple of weeks before we arrived, and was told to call hotel, but hotel clerk told me she couldn't change it.
Overall good stay, and would stay here again, despite disappointment upon check in.More
