There is so much to see that it takes more than 1 trip.

“So worth the time.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 February 2012

The folks at the Smithsonian Museum of American History could learn a few things about how to lay out a history museum. So many museums exhibit according to 'themes' but the Bob Bullock presents Texas history more or less chronologically, allowing the patron to piece together the 'themes' (exploitation of the Indians, Anglo expansionism, the change from agricultural to manufacturing economy) on his or her own. A great collection and an excellent starting point for a Texas vacation.

“Good overview of Texas history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 February 2012

Visited here for the first time in February 2012 and was pleasantly surprised. The collection is not very big (is this a function of the fact that the state is big, but was mostly empty for a long time and its recorded history is relatively recent?) but is well organized and gives visitors a good sense of what made the state what it is today.

really nice museum for a good overview of Texas history; lots of school groups but it was still a good visit. Well priced for all that you see.
