Good meal with above average steaks. Excellent service and prompt delivery of meals. The sides and wine selection were limited, but good choices.

This is a nice place for Texas style decor and service. Waitresses wear western clothes and cowboy hats. Steak, seafood and other dishes served with linen napkins but with brown paper tablecloths. We shared a filet mignon with baked potato salad and mushrooms. Everything was excellent. The steak was tender and juicy, but was ordered medium and arrived closer to well done. It was still fork tender and juicy though.

We arrived after church at 10:47 AM expecting to wait until 11:00 to be seated. We were told if we wanted Brunch they would seat us otherwise we would wait. The hostess' did not take our name but we were the only ones there. By eleven the entry was becoming crowded and we were at the back of the area account others came in and we moved back to allow them entryway. As a result we were seated after the hostess grudgingly seated everyone else that came in had been shown to their tables. We didn't view this experience as being warm and friendly as the advertisements had led us to expect.

The wait staff was much better and were quiet friendly to us for which we were very grateful. Our drink order was taken quickly and questions were answered and she brought a small loaf of bread with butter that would have nicely served three or four people. Wife couldn't have any bread account she is Gluten and Dairy Free so I munched on it and discovered it was wheat bread.

Wife ordered steak medallions (read - steak tips) with asparagus, mushrooms and a sweet potato all of which came with an up charge since they do not come with the steak tips. She requires a Gluten and Dairy free diet account being a Celiac and was served safely. She enjoyed her meal.

I ordered the mini Chicken Fried Steak and received a very nice sized, taste free, portion. The meal comes with gravy, mash and green beans (quiet unexpected sides for a CFC) but I made an even trade for fries and battered okra fresh out of the freezer. The fries turned out to be large pieces of potato that had been fried and were crisp on the outside and mushy on the inside and they had been powder coated with something. I won't order this again.

As previously stated we were there before a possible lunch crowd arrived and were well treated by the wait staff and my allergy ridden wife was safely fed which means we will return. I will have to search out something else on the large menu that might be a bit more palatable and now we know that up charges are easy to come by when altering the natural order of things. I was impressed with the cost of the meal and will take that into account before we return.

The restaurant was not noisy and we were not burdened with overbearing background noise (loud music). The dinning room and restrooms were clean and we were quiet comfortable while we were at lunch.

Visited for a nephews pinning ceremony to Abilene Fire Department. Food was tasty and would return just to try other menu items. Service was a bit slow but he was so busy. Very polite service and food was AMAZING!
