While traveling through Texas on our way to Louisiana, my mother, stepfather, and are staying at the Holiday Inn Abilene-North College Area. I am transporting them back to Louisiana after his open heart surgery.
I could tell you all about the great location, close to the Interstate, or how clean and beautiful the hotel is, but instead I will tell you about the gentleman at the front desk, Kenyatta.
I explained to him our traveling situation and asked for assistance in locating a room nearby since my stepfather had been discharge less than 24 hours prior. Kenyatta provided us with a great room. As my 64 year old mother and I assisted my stepfather from the car, Kenyatta came outside the hotel and asked if we needed a wheelchair. I was floored, and gracious to accept!
Kenyatta informed me that the grill would be opening in a half hour and if my stepfather needed anything from the menu, to call him and he would bring it up personally. I thanked before heading up to our room.
Once inside the room, we had some difficulty with the television. I called the front desk and Kenyatta arrived quickly to assess and remedy the issue.
I travel consistently throughout the year for work with the DOD. I have stayed in various hotel chains around the world and experienced fantastic service. I cannot recall ever writing a review, good or bad, but I felt necessary to do so today....and no, this is not a member of staff writing this review.
This has been a glimpse of the first half hour at the hotel and I am certain the rest of our stay will be just as exceptional as Kenyatta and the rest of the staff.
I would highly recommend this hotel after the hospitality my family has just received.
Thank you
