Description: Welcome to the Alburtis Tavern and LodgeFor over a century, the borough of Alburtis has been known as the hidden gem of Lehigh County. The 2,300 residents, who call the one-square mile home, embrace the future while cherishing the history marked by 100 years of progress; progress which stemmed from the influx of business and factories into the sleepy town.In 1913, as with so many communities across the United States, the expansion of Alburtis was sparked by the arrival of the railroads. And, at the core of the Borough, situated adjacent to the railroad, was the American House. The American House was built in 1860, destroyed by fire in 1895 and rebuilt out of brick in 1895. For many years it was a popular stop for train conductors and employees. Of the four hotels that were in Alburtis at one time, it is the only one that still remains. Now renamed The Alburtis Tavern and Lodge it is located at the corner of Front and Main Streets. This landmark of the community has been revitalized to its glory days by proprietors, Hope and Terry Bender. The Alburtis Tavern boasts 12 updated, state-of-the-art rooms for travelers as well as a restaurant for the community. Come see what everybody is talking about

Eating at the tavern is a taste of Americana with good food.
Home cooking , familiar dishes and a view of the train. Nice patio to sit outside in good weather. Definitely will return.

Nice place to stop and have some good food. The Mac Attack is good, but the stuffed pretzel appetizer is even better! So many things to try at this place.

I came here with a group of about a dozen adults. The place is an old building, but attractively renovated with a spacious outdoor deck. Inside, it's rustic and warm, decorated here and there with railroad memorabilia. Our server was friendly and helpful, guiding us through the extensive menu of mostly bar-type food -- sandwiches, burgers, nachos and the like. There's a full bar and drinks are reasonably priced. Among us, we ordered lots of different items and no one was disappointed. I started with a nicely presented French onion soup, delicious and crammed with onions. I followed that with a patty melt, a good burger cooked to my medium-rare order and served on tasty toasted rye. It came with very good potato chips, but many in our group upgraded to the house waffle fries, which they pronounced delicious.
Our server was attentive throughout and provided take-home cartons for those unable to finish the oversize sandwiches.
A sign outside proclaimed Wednesday as Mexican Night. There is live music on some nights. The restaurant and restrooms are handicapped accessible.
Nice place: comfortable, homey, unpretentious. I'll be back.

My wife and I have eaten here multiple times and have never had a bad meal. Wings are always great and the chicken pot pie is amazing!

Food slightly better than McDonald’s dollar menu. No real healthy options...deep fried processed food. Nothing homemade here.
Hostess was rude. She barked at us like a pit bull when we asked to sit at an outside table that was in the shadier part of the deck. There was only one other couple on the deck.
Will never go here again....
