This is an excellent museum. It covers the history of Anatolia from the stone age - with a fantastic collection of artefacts. It is very well presented and not too overwhelming - the lighting and the layout are excellent,.
My only criticism and it is small, is that some of the captions are not great and they could expand a bit more.

We had to stop for 1 night in Ankara before heading to Goreme. Ankara itself has really nothing to see, and it is quite a filthy city but the Anadolu Museum is a must see for anyone who is stopping there. I wouldn't say that you must go there just to see the museum but if you stopping for couple of days then it will be good to see it. It is very well organized; and offers guides who speak English.

The Museum summarizes several archaeological sites and historic periods. It is well organized and educational. Nice compound and museum shop. The museum has a cafe. There is a taxi calling button nearby. Pay attention: it takes about 3 hours to really take a good look.

It is a must for visitors of Ankara and Turkey. Well designed and exhibited treasures of Anatolia. It is a huge museum and takes a couple of hours to visit the complete museum. Helps people understand the variaty and richness of the cultures on this Anatolian lands.
