Description: Ah Koong Restaurant was founded in 1975 when it first opened its door in Taman Sentosa (Johor Bahru) as a family operated Fishball noodles stall. Since then, Ah Koong restaurant has expanded to a restaurant chain with over 100 employees across 4 outlets in Malaysia. Our flagship store remains in Taman Sentosa (Johor Bahru) and our 3 branches are situated in Jalan Pudu (Kuala Lumpur), Subang Jaya (Selangor) and EkoCheras Mall (Kuala Lumpur) respectively. Ah Koong Restaurant has since established itself as a household name when it comes to authentic fishball noodles.

This is our second visit so we were familiar with the ordering procedure. You select what you like from the yong tau foo offerings displayed on plates including the types of noodles( egg , wanton, spinach, etc). You can select clear broth, curry or tom yum broth. You can sit in the air conditioned section or outside without air conditioning but under an awning. Service from staff extended to bringing what you ordered to your table. That's the most you could expect! The taste and quality of yong tau foo is good. The meal for two cost RM75 but I would still encourage you to give it a go if staying nearby.

Bad service from the staff, found a cockroach lurking in the bowls near the order station. When the staff was informed she just used her hands to brush it on the floor and step on it.

Soup is tasty with pretty unique pork lard styled dried noodles. Fried items are a must to order, staffs do not speak mandarin, so please converse in english with them.

- Drinks are extremely basic and a little costly.

Haven't visited this branch for a long time. Am afraid it's still overrated, service ala fast food style which is basic.
You pick your choice of Yong Tau Foo, add your choice of noodles or none. Soup clear or curry.
I had curry this time, it's hardly termed curry more like sweet chillies with added water, not curry taste at all, it's not curry soup. The dish worthy of mention is the fried fish paste, "springy" smooth texture and good fresh fish.
Bill for two with Chinese tea and a couol of Yong Tau Foo came to RM33.70

Love their servings, especially loved their Tom yum soup and white rice noodles with the fish balls! Lots of drinks also on offer.
