“A great family room”
Reviewed 26 April 2012

My parents have stayed in this hotel previously and had told us not to expect much. However we were happily surprised as the family room we had (2 adults, 1 3 1/2 year old and the 18 month old) was a perfect size for all of us to sleep comfortably (we got the port-a-cot for bubs), hold all of our bits and pieces and still allow us to sit comfortably on the sofa.
It was a bit of a trek to the breakfast room from our room but the kids loved it (down in the lift, through reception into another lift, along a corridor and then down some stairs.
We were told that they should be completing renovations later this year and that all of the rooms were to be re-vamped.
Worth a stay with easy access to Petaling Street and a great place to wander from.

The best thing about this hotel is the location being right in the middle of Chinatown. Walk out of the hotel's cafe where they serve up a very adequate buffet breakfast which is included in the price & you walk straight onto bustling Petaling Street. There are a myriad of opportunities for cheap but tasty eats around the hotel & convenience shops & ATM nearby. Within 5 minutes walking from the Light Rail. Free WiFi. I'd base myself here again.

Room Tip: Do yourself a favour & pay a little extra for the Deluxe rooms so that you get a window.

we choose to book this hotel because we are looking for a cheaper hotel to spend the night with. we are supposed to be arriving in KL at around 00:35 and apparently our flight got delayed. so instead of like reaching the hotel around 2 or 3 am, we arrived there at 05:30 am.

the guy there, he was quite nice and he was working alone that time. since we arrived late, he allowed us to check out at around 14:00 for free which is nice since we are going to transfer to swiss garden.

the room is enough for me and my mom. we both enjoyed the buffet breakfast. we love the food and it is really worth every penny we spent.

Morning shift receptionist are also helpful, they give some tips where to go around the chinatown.

plus factor. wifi is free. :)

I stayed there for 1 night with my family.

Room was ready with a bad luck, jammed, couldn't open it, and had to go to lobby (very far from room) multiple times. We waited outside the room for 15 minutes. Nothing happened and they gave us room to sit until the mechanic came and broke the lock to open the room.

Finally room is now opened and found very small and uncomfortable. Smelly toilet and very small.

Window is there but you cannot open it and outside is China Town market.

Too much noise most of the time, due to renovation.

Were tired and gone to market to eat something, came back and found the room key not working.

Walked long to reach the lobby, then they did something with the key. Gone back to room and found no success in opening the room with the fixed key.

Tired and very frustrated, I asked my wife to go to lobby again, then she went to lobby to get the key fixed for the second time. Finally, after fixing it again, it worked and we entered the room.
TV remote was not working.
Without AC, stuffiness.

Pros: Location, nice restaurant, free Wi-Fi, in the middle of China Town market.
Cons: Noise, small rooms, service.

Id read the reviews and was a bit cautious when I arrived but my fears were put aside as soon as the young man at reception greeted me. I cannot remember his name but he was fantastic and looked after our party of 3 to no end and always with a smile. The room was as expected but was clean and tidy. Did not like the fact that you couldnt open the window but that was a minor problem. The hotel is in a great location with a few steps out the door and your in the China Town markets. The breakfast was very nice and more than expected. Overall a great experience and as I told the young man, will be back on my next visit to KL. Thanks

Room Tip: Dont let the rabbit warren hallways bother you, you will get to your room eventually
