Based on the good review from Tripadvisor, I'd chose Smile Hotel Wangsa Maju. I do not expect more from the hotel as I know that it is only a basic motel. But it's still disappointed me.
We reached there at 11.30 p.m and stayed in a standard room with RM98 nett per room. As expected, It is a small, simple and basic room with bed, tv, and bathroom. I don't really concern about the space but at least it must be clean and comfortable. Well, I could see ants around the small size table below the TV, bathroom and wall beside the bed. Hotel do provides towel but it's smell like it had never been washed since last guest used it. It is really disgusting. But I forced to use it as I did not bring my own towel along. Furthermore, I could not sleep tight with its flat and low quality pillow as well.
Overall, I do not see the value and worthy for the price I paid. If you let me choose again, I will sure blacklist this Hotel.

Room Tip: Choose lower floor as there is no lift in the hotel.

I'm a solo woman traveller in my 40s and stayed at Smile Hotel Wangsa Maju 3 nights, choosing it for location as I didn't want to be in the centre of KL. What a good choice.

Its on the 3rd last station on the line, about 8km from central KL, then about 300m walk.

The price reflects it not being in the centre, and MYR88 great price for a nice simple room and bathroom. Clean and practical.
From the station, see the big mosque (masjid) up the road - my window looked out on the masjid.
Staff very friendly and helpful. They said 50-90% of guests are Malaysian and about 50% business, resting mostly visiting family.
Its in a very typical suburb, the authentic Malaysian experience.
The internet cafe (cybercafe/ CC) is upstairs on the side street on the way back to the station. Its MYR1/hr. I went to many of the local cafes and stalls and I'd go back to Smile Hotel any time.

The area is about 3km from Zoo Negara, which was great, and also at the end of the train line is the bus to the Genting Highlands cablecar - can be busy I had to book a bus for 3 hours later.

Room Tip: The view of the mosque across the road is quite stunning.
