We visited the KLCC aquarium one rainy afternoon in December. The aquarium is fairly easy to locate underneath the convention centre although it’s a bit of a trek to the entrance so be prepared for a long walk.
The aquarium is filled with many weird and wonderful marine life including otters, octopus and jellyfish. It was interesting to watch them going about their business in the tanks, especially the different variety of shrimps. As you think you have reached the end there is an additional section that includes frogs and other reptiles/amphibians. While we visited there were divers in the main tank pretending to play instruments along to Christmas music which the locals loved however we didn’t really get the big deal so continued on.
As with most attractions in SE Asia, they are big on taking your photo in front of blue screens. This happened around 4 times while visiting which did get a bit tiresome by the end. We did go to look at some however the quality of the blue screen effect on some pictures wasn’t great so we didn’t buy them.
The aquarium was good value and overall we enjoyed our time there.

Hi Ali B,

Thank you for your review of your visit in December! We are easily accesible through a covered underpass from Suria KLCC and there is also a covered walk from Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

Each festive season we have different activities for our visitors to enjoy, the underwater "Christmas Carol" might have been one of the activities for Christmas specials.

We do advise our visitors to check our feeding schedule on our website prior to your visit, so that you can catch them when you come to aquariaKLCC! Otherwise, you may just take a free and easy tour on your own and ask our friendly customer service assistants if you are curious about any of our marine inhabitants!

Please drop by again, should you be in town and we will be more than happy to welcome you again!

Its not very expensive and the fishes though nice and beautiful do not offer a wide variety as you would expect from the fliers and brochures. Over hyped but I guess still quite okay for the price and promotions they run.

The place is located in KLCC Park. The aquarium may be smaller in size compared to other big aquariums in Japan but it contains good collections of fishes, sharks, tortoises, jelly fish and other sea creatures. The main aquarium has a conveyor system for people to move. There is also option to dive in with the sharks.
