Zing had changed its name to Lai Ching Yuen. We have been visiting this restaurant for their dim sum for a few years. But didn't really get to write a true review to reflect its current standard of quality in terms of food and service. Because their staff turnover was quite high. We don't see those familiar faces we used to and we get to see new staff every few months when we visit.

Here are my review for the restaurant:
1. Their dim sum has a great improvement compare to last time when it was called Zing. The chef had created new items to the menu and that is a good news to frequent visitors like us. The improvements not only shown on the taste but also on the display of the food. It's one of our favorite dim sum place in KL. You must try Char Siew Bao. It tastes so nice compare to the last few months.

2. Services is not as good as compare to last time. There were a few staff who were attentive to customers resigned and joined other hotel. The current staff needs improvement in paying more attention to customers needs e.g. be more proactive when you see family with kids will need a baby chair, baby sets etc. The best quality of service is still at Shanghai, JW Marriott KL. Their rooms are always fully booked in few months ago which I'm not sure how true is that because I see some rooms are empty but they are reluctant to give it to you when you request.

3. They always partner with bank for promotion. So check it out at their restaurant for the promotions!

Overall, we enjoy the food and the ambience of the restaurant. Kids always enjoy dining at the restaurant.

Well i had a nice time at the grand millenium for new year but it had its flaws. Lets start with the good the restaurant was buffet style it had a great range of food than to traffic i got in like at nine pm ( remember that for the bad ) the place was very nicely decorated. Then we went to the livby which was very pretty. Now on to the bad... The food was cold.. Yep maybe because i got at nine pm but still cold food aint nice..... We had to swallow everything fast cause they were gonna close at ten the restaurant and we practically were rushed out!!!! It was very uncomfortBle ..... I am a paying customer and it is not right to be treatednlike that... I had a reaervation at the loby for seeing the show and.... There were noooo chiars for us it was very tacky to see chairs pulled out of everywhere for us to sit... The show... Very bad there were children everywhere .... I headed up to the bar upstairs and it was mildly better .... The drinks were not good they tasted like water ....... The band was ok ... For this hotel i had high expextations... But it only met me half way.... Conclusion for new years .... Go somewhere else if u want to have fun.

Used to do a lot of entertaining at this restaurant and other outlets in this hotel including housing guests i.e. occupying the rooms in the past. No longer have faith in the halal status for the remaining outlets. A loyal A la Carte member which will not be renewing the membership moving forward.

The food here is well presented and there is a good choice for everyone. The location is ideal for all the major Hotel brands so you may need to reserve a table through your Hotel. The service was good and menu was explained. Overall we had a great time, good service and the food was excellent.

The setting is very cosy, contemporary blend with traditional chinese interior. The silverware is exquisite and makes one feel like imperial dinning.

I had tim sum set lunch and was pleasantly surpised how good and fusion like the dishes are, considering it is a hotel restaurant where most chinese food taste blandand washed down. The starter tim sum plate is presented like French cuisine with artful presentation and taste excellent. All the dishes I had tasted fresh and well cooked.

Prices are on high side for Malaysian standard (RM6-RM15) for a basket of tim sum but this means that the place is not overcrowded like most tim sum restaurants.

So, next time you are in Bukit Bintang, pop in Zing in Grand Millenium for tim sum if you want some peace and quiet lunch or small bite!
