“The Electric Tram stop if a couple of blocks from the cruise terminal.”

Nagasaki Electric Tramway

Reviewed 6 April 2018

The representatives from the tourist agency in the cruise terminal sells one day passes on the Electric Trams. The tourist agency does not take credit cards payment is cash only for the one day pass. The agency passes out maps of the tourist site around the city. Most of the tourist head for the Atomic Bomb site. A couple blocks from the cruise terminal is the tram stops. The trams are numbered and have different colors. A short ride about two stops and a change of trams about one stop to the Atom Bomb site.

Our cruise ship holding over 3,500 passengers visited this port and the tramway station near the pier was so inundated with visitors that the queue at the tram station was actually extending into the traffic intersection. And if you were toward the end of the queue, you would have to wait for at least the 3rd or 4th tram before you could get on. Other than that, the tram would be a nice way to get around Nagasaki to the different attractions like the atomic museum and shopping centers...

If you are in Nagasaki there is only one way to travel ... it has to be the tram. Fabulous carriages and so easy to navigate your way to all the major tourist attractions .. not expensive either you can buy an all day ticket for 5 yen .. all stops are signed in English so you cannot get lost ..

A great way to travel about Nagasaki, we paid five dollars for an all day tram pass, a fabulous experience, and the tram drivers were helpful with what stops to change over at if ever confusion set in. Wouldn't get about any other way as easily.

Only used the tram(streetcar) once but found it an exciting experience. The tram was crowded but people just got on with the journey. Trip was during spring blossom time.Jumping on at the rear and making your way forward stop by stop. A really easy and inexpensive way to navigate Nagasaki.
