The place is located on the hill. It was a place where colonialist were living, meeting and working during the stay in Japan. It is cherished as the place that started the industrialization in Japan.

Beautiful garden with Oura Catholic Church nearby. Chinatown is within the and Haman-machi mall (Nagasaki's largest shopping area) further along the road, all reachable on foot.

The house and grounds of Glover Garden sit on a of the hills of Minamiyamate - an area formerly reserved for foreigners, that commands a view of the Nagasaki Bay and the entire city.
Indeed the house is believed to be the setting and inspiration for Puccini's opera Madame Butterfly.

It's not a quintessential Japanese Garden but it is a peaceful setting overlooking the harbour.

We spent quite some time trying to find this. We weren't sure if it was the whole area around the Glover House or just the small garden directly in front of the house. Either way, a nice area with great views over the south of the city and the harbour.
