Description: We'll give foreign tourists goods made of KIMONO! We offer deep flavored matured Japanese beef served by the pound. Complete a-la-carte menu also available. We also offer various types of wine which go well with Japanese beef. Meat allowed to mature for a certain period in drastic thermal and humidity conditions is known as dry-aged beef. The delicious flavors, strong and well fragranced, will capture you. In our restaurant, we offer matured Japanese beef as grilled meat for you to enjoy in various ways. We use black Japanese beef for the matured meat and use cows raised through original breeding methods, to add more marbled sections. We offer everything from standard cuts to rare cuts. Special private rooms for receptions and spacious rooms for banquets are available.

Pound is a super experience for any trip to Kyoto especially if you have kids.

We tried most of the wide selection of meat that is cooked by the table, it was super delicious!

The restaurant is very nice with private “dining booths” at the first floor for a super exclusive experience.

We would go anytime again and can only recommend this restaurant!.

We just had diner at Pound. The meet is absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is nice. Try to sit downstairs for more privacy is you feel like it. We would definitely recommend it!

The week has been raining, your feet are soaking and you’re not sure your umbrella is going to last the journey home.

You stumble upon this tucked away restaurant to find a sanctuary.

You’re whisked away to a private booth and immediately your clothes feel a little dryer.

We ordered a set menu and at least four sides to go along with it. The meat has been the best of the yakiniku experienced in Kyoto.

The price and drinks options were more than reasonable given the quality.

I’m not a regular reviewer but felt compelled to write one.

Would come again soon

This restaurant is the third restaurant that I have eaten for this type of food. It is the worst out of the three.
-Meat cut are very thin, lot and lots of fat ( although I ordered different cuts and some are expensive)
- Beef tongue was over advertised and over rated. Very tough meat and no flavors.
- Sauce is just one type, kind of weird taste. Taste cheap comparing to the meat that they sell.
- No Japanese red wine ( although the Chile red wine were very good)
- No charcoal grill, but only gas grill. I went back to the hotel and my clothes were very smelly.
-There were 3 of us and 2 young children, we spent $250 total. Too much for a not so good meals.
- There are better choices in Kyoto.

Found this restaurant via TripAdvisor. Great experience!!! Super to sit in small alcoves. The meat was delicious and the beer and wine rounded up this dinner in its best way.
The waiters are very nice and quite easy to communicate in English.
We recommend to go there.
Enjoy :-)
