This hotel boasts excellent staff, nice rooms and great service.
It is central to most things in Kyoto.
Breakfasts will satisfy western as well as eastern tastes.
To say the staff were helpful is a gross understatement. They were anxious to help no matter what the request.
There are no views from the windows as the area is well built up (5-6 stories) and places are very close together. Having the post office a couple of doors down (with international credit card friendly ATMs) was an added benefit.
The onsen was simple to use and absolutely relaxing.
This is a family friendly, quiet hotel well worth considering.

We really appreciate your complements on our staff, we hold several types competition every year for the best Omotenashi (Hospitality) improvement. In generally, Japan is fantastic country for hospitality, we assure you that we will continue to strive to provide better service.

Also, it brings us great joy to hear that you enjoyed our central yet quiet location. Our hotel is located on a small historical street called Shinmachi, and that makes our guests feel a special atmosphere that you can only feel in certain area in Kyoto.

And as you mentioned one of the biggest attractive points of our breakfast, we serve various kinds of Kyoto traditional dishes with plenty of fresh vegetables and ingredients from local farm by buffet style. Although some of our guests from overseas might feel their taste unaccustomed, we are really pleased to hear that you could enjoy having breakfast at our restaurant.

Furthermore, we are so pleased that you were satisfied with our public bath facility. Our public bath using artificial carbonated spring is highly rated. It would make you feel relaxed and heal your body got tired from walking for sightseeing all around Kyoto city.

Thank you very much again for your time providing us your feedback which is very important to all of us.

This is a gorgeous hotel in a nice neighborhood of Kyoto. The lobby and onsen are beautiful, and our room, while a bit smaller than some of our other Japanese hotels, was very comfortable.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a variety of western and Japanese foods. The hotel had a serene feeling but was still welcoming to children. We were sorry to leave and would happily stay here again. The location is walking distance to Nishiki market and close to a train station and busses.

Excellent hotel.
Great staff service and very attentive with great spoken english.
Stayed between 29 to 31 March 2018, with full bloom cherry blossom. Hotel price per room is very expensive during this period.
Breakfast was good with Japanese and western selection.
Hotel location is excellent, quite location and easy access to shopping in just 5 to 10 mins walk.
Will stay again when not in peak season.

I stayed here with my 17 year old son as we'd been unable to get up to Takayama because of heavy snow. We spent two nights in Kyoto, and really enjoyed staying at the Mitsui Garden.

The room was nice, and fine for what we paid, clean and tidy; the facilities were great, and it was well located for food, entertainment, shopping and transport.

We particularly enjoyed the onsen which was lovely and tranquil, especially sitting in the carbonated warm water watching the snow drift down outside!

We are sorry to hear that you couldn't get up to Takayama, but we are very pleased to hear that you fully enjoyed your stay with us and the room you stayed was comfortable for you.

Also We are glad to hear that you have enjoyed sightseeing a lot. As you know, our hotel is located at very convenient place to many sightseeing spots and easy access to public transportation such as city bus, train and subway. Nearest stations is just 6-7 minutes walking from our hotel.

This was the second time I stayed at this hotel and I wasn't disappointed.

The staff were very helpful, friendly and accommodating.

The room was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities.

During the middle of the night the fire alarm activated and a group of us rushed down the corridor. Apparently someone was cooking in another room which set the alarms off. This was explained quickly and we were all told not to evacuate our rooms. The next morning the staff were extremely apologetic. It would have been nice to give the guests a free breakfast or some discount for scaring the guests and wakening them up.

Overall I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this place.

The location is close to the train station, markets and shops.

Thank you very much for choosing us again for your recent stay in Kyoto and for your 5-star review.
Our entire staff are delighted to know that your first stay with us was one to remember and of course the hotel lived up to your expectations. Our hotel is pretty new and we make cleanliness a priority. It is great to hear you found the room you stayed comfortable and well equipped. Our rooms are efficiently setup, and every room has its bathroom, and a shower room and washroom are separated in some types of the room.
The location is perfect, very convenient to go to most of the main sightseeing spots in Kyoto city by bus and train. Also there are tons of choices of restaurant and cafe in our area, and we all are happy to recommend our favorites. The street called Shinmachi, which our hotel is located on, absolutely makes your stay pleasant as it is a small and historical street.
We are sorry that you had an unpleasant night with the fire alarm and for the frustration caused by this. But we are glad to learn that our staff were able to handle it quickly. It is our absolute pleasure that we can be the hotel to recommend to other travelers even though you had an unusual experience. We do take pride in catering to our guests' needs the best way we can, and we will be so sure that we keep trying harder.
