I enjoyed this walk, from near Ginkakui down towards Nanzenji. However, it was high summer and there were no cherry blossoms or autumn leaves. Without these, the walk is nothing special.

This is a lovely canalside walk. The cherry blossom came a little early this year so - although we came on the earliest date that was possible for us - quite a few trees were already starting to lose their blossom. It was still very beautiful and must be absolutely magical if you manage to visit at the peak of the cherry blossom season.

Came during Sakura season - made for a very pretty walk. Some nice shops and cafes including a couple of street vendors. Calm and peaceful couple of hours - would recommend!

We came back to Philosopher path after 3 years and it remains the best place in Kyoto where you can enjoy Sakura. Highly recommended.

This walk runs beside a small stream and is adorned with an amazing array of cherry trees. In the season, the effect is glorious.
The walk is very popular so you need to watch out for sudden stopping photo takers, for girls dressed in kimonos who wobble all over the place on their sandals, and, in some parts, vehicular traffic.
This is a delightful walk and not at all strenuous.

Thank Brianturkey
