We were looking for a kaiseki meal for under 10,000 yen per person (it was 8,000). We wanted to sit down and experience the meal of the day and that is exactly what we got. We stopped by two days before to make reservations as it is always easier to communicate in-person when one has very limited Japanese. The chef and his wife speak some English and it was easy to arrange for a table. Hostess was waiting outside the restaurant to greet us. We were in a private screened room, placed our drink order and food began to arrive. The food was wonderful. Hard to remember all the dishes but there are at least 10. Some more exotic that others such as the roasted eggplant with dark and light miso. All nicely presented and very good. There was no English menu but the waitress was able to tell us what we were eating and how to use the sauces. The final rice dish had the 4 of us stuffed and the staff offered to package the leftovers into onigiri which was even more delicious the following day when we weren't already full. Great food and excellent value (with the exception of the wine at 3000 for half a bottle - although it was delicious and we considered a second).
