As a family of 5 it was quite hard to find a affordable hotel during cherryblossom in Kyoto. The 220 US$ seemed a fair price for a clean and spacious Hotelroom for 5 pax without breakfast.
Location of the village Kyōto is fantastic: the Omiya Station on Hankiu line is around 20 meters away(exit 5).
However the rooms would need a makeover to improve the hotels impression. Room size is a bit snug...so we decided on skipping hotel breakfast (which is served in a bento box in your room) as there are multiple yummy places close by.
Onsen is nothing spectacular (especially the ladies Onsen) but clean and well maintained. Several beauty products are provided including brushes cotton swabs etc. Unfortunately Onsen was crowded with Chinese who didn’t shower or wash before using the hot Onsen which was a bit disgusting -but nothing to blame the hotel for.
Staff was friendly helpful and really caring for their guests-it’s hard to comprehend the previous comments on staff‘s behaviour.
We wouldn’t recommend this hotel for a somehow romantic holiday but traveling as a family we would definitely go for the Village Kyōto again. More
