“Great place with a nice atmosphere!”
Reviewed 21 April 2011

Guest Inn Chita is a great place to stay if you want to go sight seeing around central Kyoto.Just walking in the locality you will come across some of the most famous temples in Japan and also some great family run bars and restaurants .The rooms are a comfortable size and kept very clean.Staff speak English and are very helpful. Bike rental is cheap at Y500 per half day.One of the best places Ive stayed on my trip.

I found the Inn to be very enjoyable. The building and rooms are clean, the staff and managment are friendly and extremly helpful. The location is also great, as it is less then a 5 minute walk from Kyoto Station. The rates are very affordable
I would definatley recomend this location to anyone traveling in the Kyoto or Central Honshu area

It's very close to the Kyoto Station, just about 10 minutes by walking.
The owner is very easygoing.
The japanese room is clean and big enough for 2 people.
Most important of all,the price is not expensive.

I have been staying at the Chita Inn on an annual basis since October of 2006.
I travel regularly to Japan and tour the entire country requiring me to stay in various different inns, hostels and hotels.
Upon discovering the Chita Inn and the inviting helpful nature of manager, Kahori, I have since continued to establish the Chita Inn as my regular and only place to stay while in Japan and base all my business and operations from this very central and affordable location.
There are definitely other places that you could stay but I know that unless you are willing to pay a ridiculous amount of money, there are none better.
A very inviting, clean, caring, friendly, affordable, central and comfortable location.
I highly recommend it.
If you stay once you will keep returning.

Stayed one night here in a twin bedroom which was located on first floor. The room was big and had Japanese styled beds which were rolled up on one side. We were offered western style beds which was nice but this was our first time trying Japan style, and as they say 'when in Rome....'
The doors to our room like all the other rooms were Japanese style sliding glass which looks pretty and authentic, however, provides poor sound proofing so you will hear everyone walking pass, talking and in our case a very nervous dog barking intermittently in the opposite room. Having said that, my fiancé slept like the dead and me normally being the light sleeper had no trouble at all.
The lounge/kitchen is located on ground floor with sufficient amenities as is the bathroom, sinks and toilets. None of the rooms are ensuite so if you need to relieve yourself in the middle of the night, it is a fairly long run downstairs, through the lounge and corridor to the toilets. So if you have a weak bladder you need to have a ground floor room to have the toilets close by.
One thing that was unusual was that there were two showers in a wet room with two little plastic chairs for you to sit as you shower. We took the rare opportunity to shower together sitting on the little chairs and have a morning conversation. Rather unique and fun!

Room Tip: Generally not for someone with a weak bladder!
