I stayed here for 2 nights while in Kyoto. It was very nice and cosy. I got a taxi from Kyoto station to the ryokan as it was the easiest way to get there. It is less than a 10 minute walk to a 7/11 and train station which will take you to the busy part of Kyoto. And in the other direction is another convenience store less than 5 minute walk away.

The room was very large and impressive but the futon is quite firm as it is on the floor. It was my first time sleeping like this but was manageable. There is tea on the table in the room with hot water in a jug. No need for a kettle. The staff working at the ryokan were very nice and very welcoming making the place feel like home. On the 2nd night I had a great conversation with the man working on the front desk.

I would definitely consider staying here again next time I am in Kyoto.

Lovely little place with a good location. We could walk to the city and it was near a subway station. It provides the ryokan experience with its tatami mats and all..everyday you’ll get some form of small Japanese snack - a good way to try these cute Japanese sweets. the staff/owner? was really helpful.

Only thing is, since it is a ryokan, be prepared to sleep on a mattress on the tatamis. We were not used to it, so we woke up with stiff backs. But that’s part of the ryokan experience! :)

Close to Heian Shrine and other notable tourist places. Bus stop is very close to the Inn. Large rooms with nice touches, tabi socks, yukata, teas & cookies. The older staff don't really speak English, however the younger ones can speak more. Gave out lots of maps & tips for our visit, I would recommend it. There is no English sign on the building, you'll need to figure out the Japanese characters

It is not like real and large ryokan in Sapporo or Kyushu but good enough.
And it has reasonable price.
Staff can speak English.
It has public bath. It is very small but good enough for relaxing.
Location is also good. Has many bus stops and convenient store near ryokan.
Room is very spacious.

What a wonderful experience! Just modern enough, not overly so, and very comfortable. The proprietors have done a great job...the hot baths for men and women were terrific. All aspects of a true Japanese ryokan were met, and the Japanese breakfast was a treat worth the $.

Room tip: Quiet, clean, very comfortable.
